Obama: Senators decided protecting kids 'wasn't worth it'

WASHINGTON --A visibly infuriated President Barack Obama surrounded himself with tear-stained parents of Connecticut school shooting victims Wednesday after the Senate voted down a measure designed to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and declared it a "pretty shameful day for Washington."

He said a minority of senators decided "it wasn't worth it" to protect the nation's children.

The Senate, which is controlled by the president's own party, handed him a stinging first defeat for his second term by voting down a bipartisan compromise to expand background checks for gun buyers.

Democrats, leftists, Obama and ANYONE who supports them, a lot of US are literally in deep depression and near tears every day wondering why YOU are not in prison. You try to disarm those of us who are innocent by lying and vilifying us without cause and VIOLATE our constitution.

With every bad incident that occurs in this nation, the lying media follow the administration line and tell everyone that it is we conservatives (who are in tears) doing it when time after time it is shown that we have exercised self-discipline and are not involved.

And, we are supposed to be HAPPY with YOUR agenda? Are you nuts? And, if we begin to have domestic attacks by foreign entities, you're going to ask for OUR help? Who of us is going to help YOU when you try to disarm us and make us less safe?

When you find out who was involved in the Boston bombing, deport everyone who believes the same way they do. You probably won't believe me when I tell you, but I sure don't believe in killing innocent people to achieve an agenda. If that means I have to move to another country, so be it. You will find that I and those with me do not advocate that type of action. But if you can prove it, deport us. Or, deport whomever held the belief system of those involved. I dare you.

Yes, but Bengazi was a personal rejection. Someone had the effrontery to say no to the narcissist in chief. When you worship youself as a god, someone actually saying no doesn't sit well. In the now long forgotten debates when Romney didn't fall down and worship at his feet you could see that zero didn't like it at all.

I thought that it was funny how the sock-puppet was carrying on like a jackass without a script or teleprompter. I’ll bet his puppet handlers were a bit worried about what the idiot might say by mistake.

Good old Biden’s imitation of Walter, the ventriloquist dummy, was priceless.

May they all go swiftly to hell. Wish they’d worry more about why we need 1.6 gallons pressure cookers and try to get those registered immediately and out of houses NOW!. . . hell, they killed 3 people with the pressure cookers and not one person was shot by a bullet. How’d’dat’ happen?

I hear you, It’s stunning how the left wing media like MSLSD is still talking about guns and how those who voted against it are cowards.

We have what is supposed to be a news network ARF stating how certain reps are cowards and liars, and they’re not even covering TX, infact in their main headline they even ignored TX

I never watch the left wing crap but thought I’d give my oldest boy a lesson on how the left wing fanatics act and how they cover stories and how they ignore stories

And, if the NRA and congresscritters had any sense of public relations, they would have a day of “guns save lives” in every state with at least 20 “victims” whose lives were saved because they had a gun so they could tell their stories.

It’s not dead. Laws are never settled until the left gets what they want (see the sodomite agenda), then once they do, they berate the right for continuing to oppose “settled law” (ie abortion, obamacare). Their hypocrisy would be breathtaking from anyone other than them-from them, it’s Alinsky tactics as usual.

How was passing anti-gun legislation going to “protect the kids”? Give me a break.

First, nothing in the bill would have prevented Lanza from committing his mass murder. Armed faculty might have done so - was there anything in that bill about letting qualified faculty members (say, those with concealed carry licenses) carry in school? Didn’t think so.

Second, they’re not my kids. Freedom is worth a few risks and I’ll do my best to protect my own kids. I don’t need any Federal Laws trying to “protect” them.

Not exactly. The bill had 54 yeas and 46 nays if I remember correctly. Just not enough to pass because of senate rules.
