We Win. They Lose. The 2nd Amendment is Safe.

Today in the Senate, a funny thing happened.

We fought on principle, and we won on principle. You know why?

Because 3 U.S. Senators didn’t listen to the “do something” caucus and the hand-wringers parading as leaders in Washington. Instead, Senators Cruz, Lee and Paul circulated a warning prior to the last recess saying they would (gasp) filibuster any legislation that would undermine our God-given, fundamental right to bear arms. It just so happens that this God-given right is enshrined in the Constitution.

We have a play book, ladies and gentleman: fight and win.

Thankfully these fresh faces in the Senate get it.

You know who else gets it? The Gun Owners of America. From the beginning, GOA was standing up tall to defend the Second Amendment on principle – not in a game of political gamesmanship and endorsements of Democrats. They were crystal clear the whole time and led other groups, some of whom get more attention and prominence in the debate, in their direction.

Heritage Action for America also gets a lot of credit for moral clarity and fearlessness at the very beginning of the debate. Their willingness to stand with Senators Cruz, Lee, and Paul at the very beginning helped tremendously.

Today, in Britain, Lady Thatcher’s devotion to public service and dedication to liberty was celebrated… not that anyone in the Obama administration noticed. The Prime Minister was tenacious and knew how to fight. She would often say “First you win the argument, then you win the vote.” Not particularly difficult to say – but sure seems difficult for most politicians to carry out.

But kudos to Senators Cruz, Lee and Paul for being willing to provide leadership where there has been none.

Now – on to Immigration.

President Obama angrily blamed the defeat Wednesday of his centerpiece gun-control proposal on lies spread by the National Rifle Association, calling it “a pretty shameful day for Washington.”

The shameful day was the day he was sworn in as president for a second term!

“The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill,” Mr. Obama said in the White House rose garden about 90 minutes after the vote. “It came down to politics.”

This is not leadership. This is the reaction of a petulant child, every rock removed from his path through late mid-life, who is confronted, finally, with the reality that not everything he wishes will be made so. And so those who oppose him are 'shameful'. They 'willfully lied'.

How, exactly, do we find any middle ground? I for one do not believe in bi-partisanship with this gang of evil misfits.

Sorry Barry, you can try to demonize the NRA or any other group if you feel that’s what you need to do. This was about our rights explicitly stated in a certain document a law professor should have some familiarity with.

Individual liberty is never “safe”.

The left and their ideological “father” never rest.

I would have loved to have seen the CCW reciprocity amendment get a few more votes and pass. That would have been nice.

We Win. They Lose. The 2nd Amendment is Safe.

This is a lie, we already have the NFA and GCA infringing on the 2nd -- to the point they have become 'normalized' in the eyes of the citizenry.

They still have to vote on the actual bill, right?

Indeed. Eternal vigilance is the price of Liberty. They will be back like some re-animating sci-fi monster.

Don’t forget that disarming Amercians is also part of the world agenda. Even though the Arms Treaty will not be retified by the senate, they wanted to get some of its provisions enacted into American law. Too bad, oh too bad!!

They may look like they’re defeated, but they’re just marching backward:

Yes, the underlying bill is still under debate. There are two more amendments to be voted on today. Beyond that, I don’t know what these back-room schemers have in mind for action on the bill.

Take a look at the voting roles.

Reid voted against it.

Why did he do that?

Senate rules allow him to bring it back at any time.

It will be important to keep vigilant. He may be trying to wait until he can slip it.

If anyone has a doubt why we need (so-called) assault rifles and 30 round magazines, take a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbuGEYg7CC8&feature=youtu.be

Colin Flaherty writes for WND, and is the only person I know who has consistently reported on the increasingly violent feral black population that are just begging to be exterminated.

Time to follow through, let your senators who voted to beat the beast know how much you appreciate their stance, not just your senator but all of them, both Democrats and Republicans, this is not going away, in the words of the terminator “I’ll be boack”!

For those who fed the beast, let them know, their days are numbered.

Time for reinforcement, time to strengthen allies, time to build positions, time to advance and take the country back, seize the momentum.
