Allen West may be out of office, but retreat is not his battle plan
South Florida Sun-Sentinel ^ | April 20, 2013 | Anthony Man

South Florida voters removed Allen West from Congress, but loyal supporters continue to finance his political efforts, contributing a stunning $479,000 to his political action committee during the first three months of 2013.

That works out to more than $5,300 in cash pouring in every day to the Allen West Guardian Fund, a political action committee that's part of a multi-faceted effort to keep the West brand vibrant.

An analysis of reports filed this week with the Federal Elections Commission also showed:

He’s out of office because thousands of votes were “found” at 2:00am on election night. Just about enough to beat him.

Funny how that works.

Plenty of limp-wristed males in that area, too, in addition to an influx of northerners and baby-killing wannabees.

There is lots of talk/speculation that Florida Dem official want Nelson to run for governor. They have no viable candidates, they worry that Crist will win the nomination, and he has no chance, even against Scott.

They're trying to be too cute about it...Nelson wouldn't resign...and if he won, he could then appoint his successor..

Allan West on NPR in December 2012:

MARTIN: So what’s next for you?

WEST: Look, you know, God closes a door so that he can open up greater doors. I will continue to, you know, stand up and fight for this country. That’s my goal. I have two daughters, 19 and 16, and I want to make sure that they grow up in a great America that provides them all the opportunities that it provided to their mother and father.

MARTIN: Congressman Allen West is completing his term in Congress. He was kind enough to join us from a House recording studio on Capitol Hill here in Washington, D.C.

WEST: And always remember, Abraham Lincoln only served one term in Congress, too.

MARTIN: Duly noted. Congressman West, thank you so much for speaking with us.

WEST: Take care, now.

I’d love nothing more than to see West continue to rise to the point of being president someday. And I sincerely hope that’s what he meant by that comment.

The blame is not Republicans. The blame is ACORN plus Dems who voted in numerous states. How the hell do you beat folks who vote 3-4 times each?

It was the FLA republican legislature that eliminated his district forcing him to move and start from scratch in a heavily dem area. THEY wanted him OUT.

“It was the FLA republican legislature that eliminated his district forcing him to move and start from scratch in a heavily dem area. THEY wanted him OUT.”

Yep! And there is this:

Allen West is one of the few who refused to sign Grover Norquist’s ‘pledge’...and you see what happened.

[snip]http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0512/76470.html

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) scoffed at the idea the pledge was some sort of blood oath. A number of other offices of freshman members told POLITICO their bosses had sworn oaths to do what was best for their districts, not Americans for Tax Reform.

“I signed that thing in the desert of Afghanistan,” West said in an interview. “I got home and they wanted me to sign again during my campaign, and I wouldn’t, and Grover started yelling at my campaign manager. Grover is a nice guy, but I think he’s a little misguided.”(AUNTB: YOU’re wrong there, Col. West, wise up!)

“I don’t care if he has my name on his website, it’s meaningless,” West added. “I think my voting record speaks for itself.”
The tax pledge has long been a litmus test for any conservative who wants to be taken seriously in a Republican primary.

Grover is a good friend of all things radical Muslim:

He obviously pissed someone off. Perhaps they thought he could win in a district with more blacks? I do not know. I do know the voting was screwed up as many on the Internet bragged about getting Florida voter registrations years after moving out of state.

Mr. West caved early & often in the service of John Boehner & the RINOs. He lost reelection because conservatives wont support a man who says one thing, then does another.

Don't waste your time or money with West. Only the naive are still impressed with this man.

I am sick and damn tired of the term RINO, plus how great the real tea party types are. BS. The original founder of the Tea Party lived here close to Nashville. Then the left coast types took control. I have no problems with a Tea Party, but; no third party by itself can win. If anyone thinks libertarian means conservative-you are wrong.

The blame is not Republicans.

You delude yourself if you think the GOPe wanted West re-elected. They were more than willing to carve up his district to make it near impossible to win again.

I doubt the allegation. All losers have a damn excuse. West was an LTC in the FA branch. He was not an Infantry CO.
