Apparently the SWAT teams had taken control of the neighbor's house adjacent to the home where the boat was located.

Rebecca Heavey, 29, lives in the house behind where Tsarnaev was found. Her backyard is adjacent to where the boat was stored. She described the drama as authorities swarmed over her garden to get to Tsarnaev.

"I just saw all the Swat teams in our backyard with their guns drawn," she said. "We were crawling on our elbows through the house, trying to find a safe place. Our doorbell was ringing and we didn't know who it was, we couldn't see the police. We were terrified."

You can see that boat on Bing Maps down at the elbow of Franklin St in Watertown, MA.

They better buy that man a new boat AND give him a sizeable reward.

My 1 question, if the boat looked like swiss cheese after they were done, WHY was this effer still alive?

That’s fiberglass for you. The key is where did the rounds go after they went sailing through the boat? They will be finding holes all over that neighborhood for quite some time.

Swat teams moved in and a gun fight ensued,...

Bullet holes usually do result when there's a gun fight. I sure hope no one is blaming the Swat team for returning fire after being fired upon. Personally, if you're dumb enough to shoot at law enforcement people, you just gave up your rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

The boat should have been splintered like the bodies this creep and his brother left in the wake of their bombings.

The boat might be worth a small fortune to someone who collects historical hardware

Aw c’mon, I doubt that the boat was like swiss cheese. They wanted the guy alive and they did.

Nah, too dramatic a report.

Much has been said about that MIT cop as a “hero”. All he did was sit in his vehicle and be assassinated. Tragic, yes, but the real hero is David Henneberry who had the balls to walk up to his boat, look inside, risk being shot.

Hope the owner and his neighbors are reimbursed by the local/state/fed govts. for the damage to their property.

Bigger story to me is that, as soon as the public is brought into the picture, the dirtbags are caught. Publication of their photos the afternoon before, which resulted in the euthanasia of dirtbag #1, and then removal of the lockdown the next day, which resulted in the discovery of dirtbag #2 within minutes.

If law enforcement has learned anything, it's to trust and involve the public from the outset, despite the bad rumors circulating initially, coming mainly from...you guessed it...law enforcement. Recall the mess with the D.C. snipers: Police Chief Moose was pushing the idea it was a white man in a white panel van, even after he knew it was two black guys in a dark-colored car. Once he was forced to reveal the real information, a trucker spotted the SOBs at a rest stop, and they were captured quickly.

If this is true, amazing that the owner of the boat wasn’t killed by the young terrorist...there was a SWAT team in the house next door, maybe viewing this, maybe not, and the man was able to walk away from the boat and make a phone call? Pretty unbelievable.

The boat will be on eBay next week - and the owner will be able to buy a yacht.

“shootout with police”

But MASS is a state with very strict gun laws! You mean this POS didn’t obey the gun laws?

Watch - - the insurance policy will have a clause: “Coverage does NOT extend to acts of God or shootouts with Islamic terrorists.”

Heavey said she had ventured out briefly into her backyard on Friday afternoon, breaching the lockdown order to take her dog out for a walk. "The kid could probably hear us in our backyard from where he was," she said

Heavey sounds like a typical Boston liberal who believes the media.

The media kept showing the picture of a Dzhokhar when he was a "kid". Heavey responds by calling the 19 year old terrorist Dzhokhar, a "kid".

Here's a more recent photo.
