Judging by these two blockbuster pieces here and here by Breitbart News reporter Matthew Boyle detailing tactics by the forces that are pushing comprehensive immigration reform, conservatives are going to have to step up their defense in pushing for increased border security and legal immigration.
The playbook proponents of the Gang of Eight's proposed bill is familiar to anyone who follows the institutional left, including using coordinated talking points and attacking key Republicans, but with a bizarre twist: the attacks and scheming are coming from the right.
The maneuvering comes as the Gang of Eight is attempting to ram immigration legislation through Congress, with the added pressure of security concerns raised by the terror attack in Boston; this latest development was a major focus of the email exchanges between CATO and Norquist's group over the weekend.
One of the most clear examples of people who are theoretically on the right using leftist messaging comes from an unnamed source in this Roll Call article: “Republicans are not going to let a handful of knuckle-dragging xenophobes destroy the party by beating up on some of the most vulnerable people in our society."

In the America we grew up in, Left was Marxist and Right was Free Market. Meanwhile in Europe, Left was International Communist and Right was Nationalist Socialist (but not necessarily National Socialist).
America is now using the European paradigm. The GOP is just the nationalist version of Democrat’s transnationalists. Their goals are the same, but they disagree on methods only. Neither political party represents the free market and individual freedom in in the US.

A Morning Joe guest pointed out that even suckup Obama once voted against immigration reform b/c it lacked a ‘path to citizenship’----a key demand of strongarm unions.
MJ guest also observed that unions are not enthused about immigration reform b/c legalized workers will compete with union members (exactly why business wants it). Now unions will go along IF illegals get the vote (cunning union bosses calculate this will help them b/c illegals will vote Dem/lib).
SOLibs SOLUTION---HOIST THEM ON THEIR OWN PETARD Repubs in the House should not do or say anything until Reid gets a bill passed. At that point, Rs offer a ‘compromise’ that is similar to Obama's relentless EO's.....but contains no path to citizenship.
Now if Reid fails, the GOP goes into 2014 rubbing the debacle into the faces of a key Dem base (EXACTLY how Obama plays Rs against each other) .
It is important that Repubs say things like “America is built on hard working immigrants and we welcome those immigrants who want to follow our laws, pay their taxes and live the American Dream’ (the way O sucks up----not pull a Romney 47% gaffe). When the bill dies for lack of union support---- Repubs can then blame Dems and Obama for ‘making the perfect the enemy of the good.'
Amen.
The reason this strategy won’t work for the GOP is that, no matter how hard they try, they will never be able to give away as much stuff as the democrats.

The father was a Congressman and presidential candidate. The son is a U.S. Senator.
There is also a former NM Governor who was a presidential candidate that could turn all of this around in 3 heartbeats that nearly everybody on this site hated and despised.
You can't have Billy Graham, Ronald Reagan or Pope John Paul running for POTUS, because they are all dead.
Test them. Tell the senators that they will approve the bill on 2 conditions. 1, all the republican inserts for their districts come out and 2, amnesty does not take place until constructin of the wall is complete.
They say no, they are full of crap and the bill gets killed.
