A Battered Dream, Then a Violent Path (Did Tamerlan go nuts because he was barred from boxing?)
New York Times ^ | 04/27/2013 | DEBORAH SONTAG, DAVID M. HERSZENHORN and SERGE F. KOVALESKI

BOSTON — It was a blow the immigrant boxer could not withstand: after capturing his second consecutive title as the Golden Gloves heavyweight champion of New England in 2010, Tamerlan Anzorovich Tsarnaev, 23, was barred from the national Tournament of Champions because he was not a United States citizen.

The cocksure fighter, a flamboyant dresser partial to white fur and snakeskin, had been looking forward to redeeming the loss he suffered the previous year in the first round, when the judges awarded his opponent the decision, drawing boos from spectators who considered Mr. Tsarnaev dominant.

From one year to the next, though, the tournament rules had changed, disqualifying legal permanent residents — not only Mr. Tsarnaev, who was Soviet-born of Chechen and Dagestani heritage, but several other New England contenders, too. His aspirations frustrated, he dropped out of boxing competition entirely, and his life veered in a completely different direction.

Mr. Tsarnaev portrayed his quitting as a reflection of the sport’s incompatibility with his growing devotion to Islam. But as dozens of interviews with friends, acquaintances and relatives from Cambridge, Mass., to Dagestan showed, that devotion, and the suspected radicalization that accompanied it, was a path he followed most avidly only after his more secular dreams were dashed in 2010 and he was left adrift.

Most people want to know the “why” of this. I don’t think that just because they are delving in to the past and reporting events in the life of the bomber, they are condoning his acts. From a psychological point of view it is of interest.

Know thine enemy

It's kind of amusing how the NY Times practically nominates the elder Borat brother for sainthood, while denouncing McVeigh as this demonic creature of the right, back in 1995:

He rented movies, playing one about a Colorado football team over and over. He wore a favorite T-shirt with a quotation from Thomas Jefferson. He once changed cheap motels so he could watch the X-rated Spice Channel. He always washed the dishes.

These seemingly ordinary activities are little pieces of the puzzle that is the greatest remaining mystery of the case charging Timothy J. McVeigh with blowing up the Federal Building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people:

Why would he do it?

The movie is "Red Dawn," a cult classic of the far right, in which the football "Wolverines" take to the mountains as guerrillas to battle invading Soviet paratroopers. The T-shirt declared, "The tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

And the solitary motel room and neatly stacked dishes were just part of a compulsive, lonely life marked by frustration, an obsession with guns and a growing anger at the Federal Government that finally led him, prosecutors say, to pack a rented truck with more than two tons of explosives and set it off last April 19, a strange guerrilla in his own land.

PULEEEZE!!!

What is the median IQ of "journalists" these days?

Not over 80 if "journalistic" output is the measure.

Life hands us all disappointments of magnitude. Billions overcome them daily.

Islam recruits from those that refuse to.

They pulled the same crap with the Times Square Bomber.

First, they told us it was a WHITE CHRISTIAN MAN we needed to catch.
It turned out to be a Pakistani Muslim.
So they hushed up the part about Islam and blamed it on his FORECLOSURE. An unfair foreclosure made him do it.

Now they're doing the same thing.
Profiling white Tea Party Christian gun owners...
Then when it turns out to be a Democrat, left wing Muslim Immigrant and Obama supporter... They need to think up a new reason....
So it's the Angry Boxer denied his chance bomber.

PC is going to kill us all.

So what do the FORECLOSURE BOMBER (Times Square) and the BOXER BOMBERS (Boston Marathon) have in common?

The New York Times cannot bring itself to actually report even the obvious if it disagrees with their Liberal Lunacy!

“If the words weren’t enough, he had Imams there to twist and focus the words on hatred and Jihad against infidels,...”

No twisting necessary; the koran is focused on the hate and destruction of the infidel as the “prophet” himself lived.

Well, in a way you could say so. But there are other passages, those passages that seem peaceful and the ones that so-called moderate Muslims cling to as ‘their’ religion, while pshawing the evil parts. The refuge of scoundrels who must live in an infidel society.

The trouble with these ‘peaceful’ passages is that there is an unspoken pretext here that they are given with the assumption that the peace, et al given is ONLY for Muslims - Infidels be damned. So my take is that when a Muslim says “Peace Be Upon You” it means exactly that for Muslims, but means “we will bring the peace of Islam to you or you will die.”

I like the way the byline includes one apparently Russian name, Serge Kovaleski, just 4 “authenticity”.
At the beginning, this read like a parody, but eventually
enough background details were included to at least make it
an “interesting read”. Surprising details, like his sitting down and playing some classical piano, are designed to wring one last tear o* sympathy *rom the reader.
Taking it all in, though, it looks like boxing served as his outlet, even prior to “radicalization”, to take out his aggressions against America. His out-o*-date,jokey/theatrical mock-pro style o*
aggression and con*rontation with opponents was ENTIRELY out o* place in any amateur sport, and should have provided the 1st big red *lag that there was a dimension missing in this man, and that, given his background, and his behavior, he was red meat 4 radicalization, ready 4 it IN HIS OWN
PSYCHE-—all these clues should’ve been alerts that would have justi*ied the appropriate LE agencies to keep a close eye on him. Had they done that, they would have been treated to the unusual sight o himsel* and his “kid brother”
wandering around the Boston Marathon *inish line, wearing backpacks..........and once they observed that.....what could LE have done,or even allowed itsel* to do, at that point????
Having said all that, it’s clear that the NYT thinks it’s just dispassionately reporting the background it discovered,
but it’s bias is clear *rom the details o* hardship.
Hey, NYT, things have been tougher 4 EVERYBODY in the last 4 years in Obamanation, and it looks even clearer that the last 4 years have not been healing ones, but even more divisive ones between the USA and “Islam”.
Oh, and by the way, a word to the 2nd banana Joe Biden, who called the Tsaernaevs, “knock-o** Jihadists”. ALL TERRORISTS ARE KNOCK-O** JIHADISTS-—MOST o them willingly knock themselves o** , but not these two. Making them even worse than the “martyrs” who directed their planes into the WTC.
These two had plans to continue their terror rampage in TIMES SQUARE.

No, Tamerlan went nuts because he is a Chechen. Chechen is Russian for murderous coward who slaughters innocent women and chlidren in the name of Mohammad who was himself a paedophile of limited intelligence who hated just about everything that is and everyone who is good in this life.

Tamerlan, as Bill O’Reilly, aptly noted a few days ago is now a resident of Hell with his other Chechen friends.

Having known a fair number of boxers, and having once promoted a few professional boxers, I can say that most of them have an unusual personality trait. To be good at the sport requires a level of training and dedication that leaves little room for anything else in life. Good boxers are therefore obsessive types who totally immerse themselves in the sport, and who focus all of their energy into attaining a goal. When for some reason they fall off track, either they cannot make the quality cut, or they suffer an injury, all of that focus shifts to something else to fill the void left by boxing. Often it is alcohol, drugs, or in this case perhaps radical Islam.

No, Tamerlan like most of the mass murderers in history went nuts by giving his soul to the death cult Islam.

He failed to succeed in his boxing career because he failed to complete his immigration paperwork.

He is simply a looser, gone evil.

Well if you read the Koran chronologically you find that the “peaceful” parts are all in the beginning when Momadman was weak politically, and were officially upgraded to decidedly violent changes of mind by Allah as the Mightymadman gained political power as his army grew.

So if allah changed his mind and said don't be peaceful anymore but torture infidels if you get a chance, there is No moderate Muslim, just a waiting one.

I am not making any excuses for what he did in Boston here. He was an evil psychopath.

But it must be frustrating for illegal and legal foreigners who live here, that we have this deceiptful liberal narrative that claims having a border is racist and that foreign tribes of multiculturalism are innately superior to the culture and tribe of white Americans. They put up as proff that since the majority of Americans have the majority of income and jobs, this country is racist.

The laws and constitution of this country are in conflict with liberalism’s whole political (socialism/centralized power/TRIBAL rights and wealth/property redistribution) cultural (collectivism), social (and legal reality. Their claims of third world nation or tribal superiority over America, is a big fat lie. The immigrants are here to get out of the third world gutter of poverty and slaughter.
