It doesn't take a genius to tell that at this rate, on the 90th day
of the FReepathon, we would still be short of the quarterly goal.
That, my FRiends, is a damn shame!
The number of steadfast dependable contributors is
far too small when compared to the number of people
who regularly avail themselves of the fountain of information
that is Free Republic.
Times are hard. I get it, really. Income's not rising,
but groceries, gas, medicine and more surely are. Still, when
I examine the "bang for the buck" of a number of expenses,
Free Republic ranks toward the top of the list.
I'm scraping together another donation now. Won't you
take a moment, look under the sofa cushions,
and in your hearts, and give some financial support to
this forum that means so very much to us all?

No thanks on the advertising, I have enough problems and enough people trying to control our content and what we may or may not post as it is. But if you seriously think you can run a site like FR for less, please have at it. Others have claimed the same thing and some have tried, but haven’t seen a whole lot of success yet. At least not with the undercapitalized attempts. Huffington made a go of it after raising millions.

A ‘share’ button would be great for threads and posts. There are so many gems of conservative articulation on this site but they are often buried in long threads. The low info voters don’t have the attention span to find them. The time is long overdue for a conservative cultural offensive, and using all means of technology needs to be part of it.

Has there ever been a yearly budget breakdown ever shown as to how the $340,000 per year is used? That’s saying almost $1000 a day is needed to run FR. Maybe if people had a basic idea of what is actually going towards what, it might at least give them some reasons for donating. Otherwise it’s just a large nebulous number and it has people asking the very questions people would naturally ask - how/why does it cost so much to run this place? Give them a basic but detailed enough answer, and it may be enough to convert questioners into donors.
Thanks for the question. When you click on one of the donation links, on the next screen, over on the left is a group of headings, one of which is “budget”. Click on it, and this will give some info about where the money goes to keep this GEM of a forum going.
