NEWTOWN, CT (WFSB) - The bizarre discovery of 300 gallons of human urine were found in an abandoned home in Newtown over the weekend.

Environmental officials removed the hundreds of one-gallon jugs from the residence on Berksire Road. Now, they are trying to figure out why they were being stored in the home.

After the home was condemned on Friday, the state hired a contractor who had to pour the urine into large containers so it could be transported to a wastewater treatment plant.

Because the contract to dispose of the “hazardous material” likely went to the mayor’s brother for $100/gal to be paid for by the town’s taxpayers.

No you’re not dumb. They were likely trying to make urea which is a good stand in for ammonium nitrate in explosives. One mix is urea and nitromethane which I believe the 1993 WTC bombers used.

Urine mixed with composted pig feces sours to Very nitrogen rich ammonia. Mixed with wood ash and allowed to stand a few days it can then be boiled down to a serviceable nitrate. This can be mixed with sulphur and charcoal to make gunpowder.

I don’t think that was the plan here.

Well, the evidence of any potential crime in Newtown has now been lost, co-mingled...breaking the chain of evidence.

wonder what % of uric acid is in urine

In a healthy person, virtually none. Mammals generally have urea, not uric acid. Bats are the exception.

Birds have uric acid and virtually no urea.

Uric acid is not water soluble, so it’s ideal for flying critters. They don’t need the weight of water required to dilute urea.

They found a real Wiz to execute this task. The operation was a splashing success. Tales of his talent were leaked to the press.

Excellent. I nominate you to replace the useless Diane Sawyer on ABC News. I’m planning my staff moves in advance of all broadcast on-air personnel being let go when it’s discovered that they have been paid by the Federal Government all along.

I can make that myself. I have a remarkable talent for changing the nature of liquids.

Martin: (Eric) Good morning. I’ve been in touch with you about the, er, life insurance...

Feldman: (John) Ah yes, did you bring the um ... the specimen of your um ... and so on, and so on?

Martin: Yes I did. It’s in the car. There’s rather a lot.

Feldman: Good, good.

Martin: Do you really need twelve gallons?

Feldman: No, no, not really.

Martin: Do you test it?

Feldman: No.

Martin: Well, why do you want it?

Feldman: Well, we do it to make sure that you’re serious about wanting insurance, I mean, if you’re not, you won’t spend a couple of months filling up that enormous churn with mmm, so on and so on...

Martin: Shall I bring it in?

Feldman: Good Lord no. Throw it away.

Martin: Throw it away? I was months filling that thing up.
