Even the most dangerous cities in America can have relatively safe neighborhoods, as there is more variation in crime within most cities than between cities. But using exclusive data developed by NeighborhoodScout, and based on FBI data from all 17,000 local law enforcement agencies in America, we here report those specific neighborhoods in America that have the highest predicted rates of violent crime per 1,000 neighborhood residents of all.,
Violent crimes include murder, forcible rape, armed robbery, and aggravated assault.
These neighborhoods are the epicenters of violence in America, where social issues are likely to ignite into violence and spread.

Ya notice most of the towns are in the Midwest or there abouts?
It’s those Midwest values again!
Over the years i've learned to differentiate between the NE, the MIdwest and the Central South ~ that's where America lives.
The West Coast is another country and it's not all that certain we'll hold onto it.
Absolutely...Most major cities in CA, crime has been dropping dramatically for 13 years or so..
This really pisses some people off.
“The guys in the MidAtlantic are church going choir boys who are good to their baby mamas in contrast.”
You are right about that for certain! Never did understand Tennessee. All that Buford Pusser “standing tall stuff” out in McNairy County where the local LEO corruption is an art form. I remember leaving a bar in Memphis where the local cop turned bouncer told the hostess not to order me a “black cab.”( he used different terminology, but you get the drift)
19th - The part of Flint there is bad, but North side is worse. 10th - That's the part of Saginaw to avoid. 7th - Detroit - Pretty much anywhere on Wyoming Ave is rough.
3rd - Detroit - Gratiot and anywhere once past Eastern Market.
2nd - Detroit - Mack and anywhere that isn't part of Grosse Pointe.
1st - I'd replace this with Dexter/Davison.
Ping city crime stats
There are some bad California schools on the “bad list”... mostly in my old neighborhood, south L.A.
On a funny note, 2 schools named after Obama are on the bad list.
In the industrial Midwest cities, you had everyone moving at the same time in the early 1900's fighting over the same factory jobs and neighborhoods. Blacks, Southerners, Poles, Irish, Italians, Eastern Europeans, Lebanese - not to the mention the Germans and English/Yankees already there.
It's not all that surprising that Jesse Jackson and George Wallace both won in Michigan primaries.
Just about all of south Orange County (949 area code)have made the safest cities list the past two years.

worse would be spelling it male man, let’s not go there.
” soft spot for mail men.”
be aware
“23 of the 100 safest cities are in California, according to the same site:”
And a good portion of those 23 are in Orange County.
Something is seriously wrong with this data. There’s not a single MLK Blvd on the list. Simply not believable.
“Has anyone done a racial over;ay?
Just asking.”
Overlay?
As in, these neighborhoods are the reason United States murder rate is higher than Uk? Black population in Uk is 2% and it’s 16% here.
Here's a couple Google Earth snapshots of the otherwise, unassuming Chicago Avenue and Livernois "Number One," in Detroit
Now, there are not the most interesting views of the neighborhood, but the writing on the walls and windows I found very interesting.
I’m disappointed. My old stomping ground, North University Park in South-Central Los Angeles didn’t make the cut.
Maybe.
The safest neighborhood in Miami, FL, is a new village with its own police force. It's known for being the bedroom-community of Miami's criminal lawyers.
(Former Florida Attorney-General Robert Shevin got "home-invaded" thereprior to incorporation!)
Not enough of these have an MLK Blvd. Not fair for tourists!
Surprised to see Greenville and Spartanburg, SC make the top 10.
www.SBPDL.com did the Demographic Overlay and it is a dark overlay to say the least.
http://www.polis.iupui.edu/ruc/neighborhoods/martindalebrightwood/mbnarrative.htm This is a local history of my dad’s, and then my part of town ~ Brightwood/Martindale a neighborhood on the Indianapolis East Side. It explains the racial overlay. What is missing here is the destruction of the industrial/residential settlement South of Station Street ~ this was the heart of Indianapolis middle eastern Christian and Chinese communities ~ neither of which seemed to have ever participated in the census. They just flat out missed it. Must have been about 20,000 people there at the peak. The greatest number were refugees from the destruction of the Ottoman Empire. This is where 100% of Indianapolis’ commercial hamburger meat was ground and distributed. I have memories as a baby of visiting the small restaurant attached to the meat packing plant ~ it was in the front of one of those old 1880s slope roofed two story houses ~ the toilet was a hole in the floor leading directly to the sewer system. One of the better places, that was taken by Interstate 70.
