The claim that the Russians somehow “warned” the U.S. about Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s radical Islamic connections has been accepted by most news organizations and commentators as established fact. But while U.S. intelligence agencies have a lot to explain, the Russian security services have been treated with kid gloves and even as the “good guys” in this affair.
Russian media, including the English-language propaganda channel Russia Today (RT), have been insisting that the U.S. is to blame for the Boston bombings because vague “warnings” from Moscow were ignored. The US has much more in common with Russia than with most other countries. Russia has a big problem with Islamic fundamentalists in Chechnya and within their own borders. The intelligence they gathered on this American jihadist was quite good. The politically correct manner in which Federal agencies handle this information is what is at fault here. BTW as China seeks hegemony over Asia, either the US pulls out entirely (which it should) or a rational post Obama America teams up with a resurgent German-Russian axis.

Litvenenko converted to islam some time before he died. That doesn’t automatically mean that some or all of his claims are untrue, just suspect, IMHO. I have no doubt that Russia was brutal in Chechnya, but that doesn’t excuse the demonic actions of many islamofacist ‘soldiers’ either.
Thanks for posting this, I always value reading Kincaid’s perspective. One sobering thought I have after reading this is that, wherever the truth in the Tsarnaev case lies, in general, the Obama administration likely lacks sufficient counterintelligence capability to discern Russian cooperation from propaganda. Likewise on anything China tells them about North Korea. Intelligence—in any sense of the word—is not this administration’s strong point.
What would you expect the Russians to do?

Jan. 12, 2012, Tamerlan flew to Russia. His father, Anzor claims he stayed with him at the family home in Dagestan the whole time but Anzor wasn't there most of the time. July 14, 2012, Plotnikov was one of several insurgents killed in a battle with Russian security forces. Russia speculated Tamerlan may have been involved with Plotnikov so were searching for him but he flew out of the country two days later.
