Internal IRS Mandate: ‘Be on Lookout’ for ‘Organizations…Educating on Constitution, Bill of Rights’

A timeline of Internal Revenue Service activities that was developed by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration and provided to congressional staff indicates that early last year—as the nation was headed toward a presidential election—the IRS issued a “be on the lookout order” (BOLO) for officials in its “Determinations Unit” to ferret out for heightened scrutiny organizations applying for tax exempt status that were involved in educating Americans “on the Constitution and Bill of Rights.”

The inspector general’s timeline indicates that as early as March 2010 the IRS’ “Determinations Unit” had begun targeting for special scrutiny organizations that used in their tax-exempt applications the words “Tea Party” or “Patriots.” …

This appears to not just be a news dump, but a parallel scandal every bit as bad in its own way.

No deaths, but the horror of an out of control bureaucracy going after its own people is breath taking. The leftists are looking at there own Nixon, except he's somewhat incompetent in governance and much worse in his willingness to punish enemies.

Any government official who uses the abusive power of government against American citizens, regardless of political leaning, must not only be fired but jailed for their abuse of power.

Innocent till proven guilty is NOT the IRS policy. It is exactly the reverse yet no government judge has ever slapped them down for that policy. (more reason the government needs to be torn down to only what the Constitution allows.)

Isn’t fascism fun? Until someone (anyone) removes these subhuman, marxist, nobama-loving, Free-America-hating subhumans from positions of power and responsibility, we are doomed to continue this disgusting, every-day-brings-another-disgusting-thing life. nonbama hates Free America. LIB asshats hate Free America. nobama is the Reverse Midas...everything he touches turns to ****.

Come on....they did the infamous document dump on a Friday as is their wont for bad news.

If they planned this story to deflect from Benghazi (and much as I love M. Bachmann, she’s out of line inserting her nose in this) they would have orchestrated as if some grand and new news to digest.

This is going to hurt them more than anything...maybe even Benghazi.

But hey, I speculate.

And as hard as it is to believe, sometimes I’m wrong.

And just wait until these corrupt political scumbags are in charge of our health care!

Hold on to your kidneys, liver and heart! I'm sure they will find some politician more deserving of your organs than you are.

That is because Nixon was not part of the protected class. The new socialists hated him (even though he had a lot of socialism in him).

With Obambi, any attacks on the FedGov will be called racism or a hate crime.

How dare someone try to make America a better place to live. Everyone one know’s when we are all equally poor life will be better. Like the Soviet Union circa 1960. That’s Obama’s dream.

It seems like the IRS is ripe for scrutiny followed by a lot of layoffs.

A lot of IRS layoffs would be the last nail in the coffin for Obamacare. They need that agency to get 4x as large for it to work.

Read up on propaganda, and state control.

The most dangerous thing for a State is people who are not educated by the State. Many teachers admit it in private.

The sons of those home schooled kids are a much bigger threat to the State than some idiots with firecrackers.

And they know it.

But seriously, why on earth would the IRS come out and admit this...voluntarily?

The IRS IG report is being released on Wednesday. All of this information will be available to the public. The IRS "leak" at a private meeting was meant to prick the air out of the balloon and lessen the impact of the report, which will be old news when it is released.

I find it amazing that the IG is acting the way it is supposed to and not part of the cover-up.

Thanks for the info.

The IRS story SOUNDS like a huge story and by itself, it is. But in fact, all that will come from this after all the hullabaloo subsides is that some Bush appointees will be forced to take the fall for the IRS and the O administration. Maybe some returns will be re-assessed.

The Benghazi cover-up, on the other hand, the stronger hand, is big enough to bring down bigwigs of the O administration, including the WH, and put some in jail, IF public and Congressional pressures are sufficient and long-lasting enough.

Should be an action-packed week on the speculation-news front.

“A Socialist State once thoroughly completed in all its details and its aspects—and that is what I am speaking of—could not afford to suffer opposition. . . Socialism is, in its essence, an attack not only upon British enterprise, but upon the right of the ordinary man or woman to breathe freely without having a harsh, clumsy, tyrannical hand clapped across their mouths and nostrils. . . Have we not heard Mr. Herbert Morrison descant upon his plans to curtail Parliamentary procedure and pass laws simply by resolution of broad principle in the House of Commons, afterward to be left by Parliament to the executive and to the bureaucrats to elaborate and enforce by departmental regulations?”
~ Winston Churchill

Homeschoolers are, statistically, 14 times more likely to be politically active than the general population.

Why is it that every illegal or incompetent problem in this administration can never be traced back to the top person who caused it?
