I grew up in SoCal where orchards were everywhere.
As teens, one night we decided to drive into an orchard, to the house and the old lady’s home where she raised bees for honey.
Somebody knew there was honey to be stolen. We’d had a few beers, stopped, grabbed a few jars, but as we were driving away she came out.
The guy driving the car jambed it to the floor, and roared away down dirt roads in the orchards. But he slammed a gear change, got it wrong, not his car, locked up the manual trans.
The rest of the night was spent under the car, walking back to the car owners house, etc. And the next few days spent helping him pull the trans, fix it, pull it again and fix it right.
All for a few jars of honey.
