CBS News’ Scott Pelley, speaking at Quinnipiac University Friday, admitted that big news agencies are “wrong, over and over again,” so now would be a good time for them to start getting it right.
Ask the tough questions of the gun prohibition lobby, and anti-gun media personalities, now that the Bureau of Justice Statistics and Pew Research Center have both released reports loaded with strong evidence that gun grabbers have been wrong on firearms and crime for the past 20 years. This has anti-gunners feverishly spinning the news.
Firearm-related homicides have declined dramatically during a period when gun sales have climbed and gun ownership has expanded. Explain that.
Gun control groups call themselves “gun safety” organizations, yet they do not have a single certified instructor teaching a single firearms safety class anywhere in the nation. Explain that.
The number of law-abiding citizens who are legally licensed to carry concealed has more than doubled over the past two decades, yet gun-related homicides have dropped 39 percent, which is exactly the opposite of what the gun ban lobby has repeatedly predicted. Explain that.

I guess one of the atvantage of being a leftist media blowhard like CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, ect.. is little things like results and facts can be swept under the rug.
It is our job to not only get theses fact and results out, but to uses them ourselfs to make our communities and States safer.
Liberals can ignore reality until the only one left in their domain with guns kills or abuses them. That is no reason we should leave ourselves and our neighbors subject to this nuttiness.
Buy a gun, LEARN to uses it safely, and make sure your children grow up to know. Don’t be a helpless fool.
Pelley is right, but don’t hold your breath. Defending the Constitution and the civil right of self-defense doesn’t stroke little journalistic egos the way Making A Difference, Changing The World, and Making A Statement Against Gun Violence do. Because nothing makes society safer than oppressing the hell out of somebody you’ve decided you don’t like. BTT.
Maybe the old MSM is starting to face reality.

Coming to the Q and A a bit late.
Any time I get into a debate with liberals on the topic, I ask if they think that you should have to register to get an abortion, and while a background check is conducted and your name registered as an abortionist, if they’d enjoy a 5-15 day waiting period until they could actually have their abortion. Should they have their fingerprints taken, perhaps photograph as well, and be required to show photo identification and have that identification copied?
What about to do this same thing for speaking out about an issue, or for publishing a newspaper article, or for even taking a picture in a public place? All of these things liberals recognize as rights in the constitution, yet mysteriously they invent hunting reasons or only state militias when it comes to guns. And focusing on abortion eliminates the whole defense of ‘well, my pen isn’t something that is designed to kill a person.’
The OP is Dave Workman, riffing off Pelly’s remark that news reports get details wrong, like addresses, so are losing credibility. Pelly made no criticism of the left-wing or policy slant exhibited by the press, nor did he remark about gross inaccuracies in substantive reporting.
