Maryland Gov. Martin OMalley (D) plans to sign more than 250 bills into law on Thursday, including one of the most sweeping gun-control packages in the country and a plan to raise taxes on gas to yield more money for transportation projects.
. . .
The gun-control legislation, which takes effect Oct. 1, will ban magazines that hold more than 10 bullets and will ban 45 types of semiautomatic rifles, classifying them as assault weapons.
It also will require those seeking to buy any gun other than a hunting rifle or shotgun to obtain a license, a process that will include submitting fingerprints to police, passing classroom and firing-range training and undergoing more extensive background checks.

And all those peopel from MD who said “From my cold dead hands’ we’ll see if they walk the talk when the bill takes effect- Doubtful- they iwll simply mostl ikely just give up their guns just liek peopel in NY who bragged the govenrment wasn’t goign to take hteir guns away did

Not much room for freedom in that state, I guess.
No need to walk just yet. The new law does not include confiscation of currently owned guns, it’s for new purchases.

The article mentioend that their law was the ‘toughest i nthe nation so far’ or somethign akin to that- if not, then NY’s is ‘tougher’ with only 7 rounds and the law applies to previous guns owned by folks-
In MD they are making lawful guns unlawful and falslelly callign htem ‘assautl weapons’ regardless of the fact that they are NOT fully auromatic guns which are true assault weapons- the left is succeeding in making single shot rapid fire semi-auto guns into ‘assault weapons’ and theyu are no such thing-
But my point still stands, many guns will no longer be available to new buyers, and I doubt anyoen will stand up for their right and wil lsimpyl comply just like NY’ers who bragged that their govenrment was not goign to vioalte hteir rights
I’ll just buy my revolvers in another state.
FUMO’M!
As a resident of the MD Gulag I can assure you that residents are not simply rolling over. However, it is curious that 2A supporters have opted not to put the issue to a state-wide referendum but rather go the route of litigation. The rush to purchase firearms before the new law goes into effect (Oct 1) has been staggering, resulting in a wait of 60+ days before the MSP issues a “not disapproved” letter, based on current law which already includes background checks.
"Uh . . . ummm . . . what was that last bill about that I just signed???"
Maryland "Freak State" PING!
FU Martin OMalley !
