In a press conference following the sentencing of abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell, his attorney Jack McMahon insisted that the prosecution was racist and that the abortionist was no monster.
McMahon told reporters assembled outside the Philadelphia Criminal Justice Center that Gosnell truly believes in himself and remains convinced that he never killed a live baby.
Dr. Gosnell, he believes that what he did was not commit homicide, he said.
Nobody gave him a second chance, McMahon said. Dr. Gosnell is far from a monster, and this was not a house of horrors.
He wanted this case aired out in a courtroom and it got aired out in a courtroom in a fair way. And now hes accepting what will happen. Hes an intelligent guy, said McMahon, who said Gosnell would now plead to federal drug charges that are still pending.
The sentencing deal, reached after hours of terse negotiations Tuesday, spares Gosnells family the task of pleading for his life in court, McMahon said. Gosnell has six children, the youngest of them a teenager born to his third wife, who has also pleaded guilty in the case.
Hes a proud man. To bring his young family into court was something he did not want to do, McMahon said.
Outside the courthouse, McMahon continued to defend his client, telling reporters that This was presented in the beginning as a house of horrors, a hideous place. Thats just not true.
McMahon said never in his career has he seen such a trampling of justice.
There wasnt one single person anywhere, in the media, anywhere that ever gave him any type of second chance in this case. . .Nobody had the facts, everybody made their conclusions based on what they read in the papers or what the grand jury report said. . . .. The lynching by the media prior to the trial was definitely intense, he said.
McMahon said he respects the jurys verdict but just because we respect it doesnt mean that thats the truth.
He said Gosnell is far from a monster and that his client believes what he did was not homicide.
McMahon said Gosnell chose life in prison because of his children. He (Gosnell) did not want to subject them to any more negativity.
The Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams released a statement Wednesday afternoon calling the case arguably the most gruesome hes seen.
I will not mince words, Kermit Gosnell is a monster. Any doctor who cuts into the necks severing the spinal cords of living, breathing babies, who would survive with proper medical attention, is a murderer and a monster.
Williams said Gosnell knowingly and systematically mistreated female patients for years, which ultimately resulted in the tragic death of Karnamaya Mongar.
Gosnell finished up the sentencing today with an odd statement. He thanked the judge for his nine-week trial and turned to defense attorney Jack McMahon and said, Good job.
McMahon shook Gosnells hand and slapped him loudly on the back. And then he was gone, escorted through a side door to the elevators and prison holding cells under the citys Criminal Justice Center, reports say.
I’ll answer your race card with a flush, Jack.
Well played!
Really? If it wasn't for FR, I would even have known about the trial until ABC News reported on it the day he was convicted.
“There wasnt one single person anywhere, in the media, anywhere that ever gave him any type of second chance in this case. . “
What irony from the man who never gave his victims a second chance, or even a first one.
Nine of the jurors in the case were “pro-choice,” and at most one was “pro-life,” yet they still lost the case.
Now that Obamanation is falling apart look for a lot accusations of racism..

Well, if hating a prick like Gosnell makes me a racist, then so be it.
I wonder how they feel now that they looked directly into the face of abortion?
Hopefully those nine will wake up to what the choice they are pro of is.
Brilliant!
They feel like saying, “See, we need to keep abortion safe and legal, so that women can have their babies’ spines snipped in a proper, clean and sanitary facility!”
It’s true he didn’t kill “A” baby; he killed thousands of babies.
Exactly, Gosnell knew what he did was reprehensible to all. His waiving smacks of guilty conscience..
Hopefully this will add some levity to a despicable situation, so here goes:
What is the difference between a dead dog in the road and a dead lawyer in the road?
—There are skid marks in front of the dog.
What is the difference between a porcupine and an ambulance chasing BMW carrying three lawyers?
— A porcupine has the pricks on the outside.
What is the difference between lawyers and vampire bats?
— One is a bloodsucking parasite and the other is a mouse-like creature with wings!
What is the difference between a lawyer and a gigolo?
— A gigolo only screws one person at a time.
What separates witnesses from the lowest form of life on earth?
— The partitions around the witness stand.
What is the difference between a catfish and a lawyer?
— One is a low life bottom feeding scum sucker; the other is a fish.
What is the difference between a lawyer and a prostitute?
— Prostitutes stop screwing you after you die.
What does “NFL football player, NBA basketball player, politician, lawyer” represent?
— pro’s and con's
What is the difference between a lawyer and God?
— God doesn't think he's a lawyer!
How many lawyers does it take to stop a moving bus?
—Never enough.
My personal favourite, having grown up in Ontario:
What do you call 1,000 lawyers at the bottom of Lake Ontario?
— A good, though small start!

I wonder what the media would say if he had shot them.
Nobody gave him a second chance, McMahon said. Dr. Gosnell is far from a monster, and this was not a house of horrors.
Good lord, this guy is so full of it, he could make even a mob lawyer blush.
IRS Told Pro-Life Group Not to Picket Planned Parenthood
Wednesday, May 15, 2013
The Internal Revenue Service allegedly told an Iowa pro-life group they could not picket or protest Planned Parenthood and told a Texas pro-life organization they had to promote abortion, according to documents obtained by Fox News.
The IRS was concerned about advocacy, said Sally Wagenmaker, special counsel to the Thomas More Society. The (agent) said picketing and protesting is not allowed.
An IRS spokesman said they would look into the cases.
