James Carville: This is all over in 30 days By: Kevin Robillard May 16, 2013 11:57 AM EDT

Democratic strategist James Carville had some good news for President Barack Obama amid three controversies: It will all be over in a month.

Carville, who helped guide former President Bill Clinton through crises, on Thursday described Benghazi and the Justice Department’s decision to subpoena the Associated Press’ phone records as non-stories to start with and he predicted the IRS scandal would fizzle out within a month.

“These guys are awfully frustrated right now,” Carville said, referring to the GOP. “They’re taking the anger out, and I understand that. I think the White House has just go to live with this for 30 days, get the truth out and you know, just roll with the punches here. They’re down to swinging pretty wildly here.”

The Ragin’ Cajun said Republicans were focused on the IRS scandal because many of their political positions are being undercut by long-term trends.

“That’s what they’re down to,” Carville said. “Remember that the earth is warming, and that the economy is growing, the deficit is shrinking, that health care costs are flattening out, that Benghazi was nothing and as I said, there may be something amiss in the Cincinnati office of the IRS. If there is, we should find out about it and fix it and if somebody did something wrong, they should be fired or brought to justice.”

There will be a frenzy with the mainstream media, but somewhere along the line, in a few weeks or so, they’ll intentionally steer this back to their support of Obama’s socialist and anti-family policies.

Exactly. We must never forget the "media" culture is foursquare behind Obama's agenda. They'll rant for a few more days, but the CEOs of those corporations will start getting calls from the White House and/or Chicago with warnings to cool it and to start getting their people back in line. Enjoy it while it's still ongoing, because this week is the worst it's going to be for Obama. The "media" will very soon pivot to the next "shiny thing" it wants Americans to see.

I don’t believe this is going away because I believe members of the Intel community are behind it.

Either CIA who are P.O.-ed about going under the bus on Benghazi, or perhaps the Mossad looking to create the Mother of All Distractions before they start bombing Teheran.

It is simply too slick and well-executed. Bears all the hallmarks of a classic psy-op. Especially leaking that AP stuff. That’s a classic undermining-of-confidence op directed right at the MSM.

Lesson #1, if you are planning on being leader of a country, do NOT p*ss off your spooks!

He’s right. Presidents aren’t brought down by scandals of the Benghazi or IRS type, they just aren’t. Those scandals are a kerfuffle for a period of time, they cost some mid-level appointees some pain, and the next event captures attention. The impeachment of Bill Clinton, when his conviction in the Senate was a political impossibility, was a piece of giant overreach that permanently harmed Presidential accountability to Congressional oversight.

Just about the only thing that can hurt a President are things that are his own personal and non-political criminality — taking bribes, some serious violent crime in the past coming to light, etc.

“And from reading the whiny, crybaby, defeatist, thumb-sucking posts I have read here, it is apparently working with some.”

Yep.

These fairies need to just sign off of FR and do us all a favor and decrease their bitching about this guy.

if you are willing to at least give kudos to people investigating this (or at least keep your mouth shut), then you aren’t any better than the leftists that are trying to cover it up.

BJ Billy with a bloated ego? I am shocked - SHOCKED - at the suggestion.

She'll expect him to help her squirm out of it, though. And she knows where ALL the bodies are buried. ;-)

Don't you wish, Carville. If we find out there is a systemic problem with the IRS "dragging their heels" on Conservative 501(c)4 groups, this problem will get MUCH worse and we could end up with an investigation on whether Conservative groups in the "battleground" states were specifically targeted in 2011 and 2012. If so, we now have a potential election fraud issue on an unimaginable scale.

Well immediately after the presses, the AP put out a story saying Obama says he knew nothing about the IRS wrongdoings. So they’ve forgiven him that one at least.....pathetic, these people, the “press” and the big ass they kiss every day, sick and sad

” I just don’t want the current crop of GOPe to be the the guys I depend on to blow the wire. “

Well, they are the only ones who can investigate. That’s why it is critical to put pressure on them instead of throwing cold water on everything.

Who have you called? Have you called your Congressperson? Have you called Boehner’s office?

The spooks know it was Bin Laden’s son that Michelle Obama yukked it up with at the hospital after the Boston bombing. They’ve risked 20 years in prison in order to give documentation to 10 members of Congress and Glenn Beck. Beck gave it it all to the rest of the media saying it needs to come from them and we will all see who will or will not do their job. Some reporters wrote articles but the powers-that-be wouldn’t allow them to be published. Those powers-that-be better be prepared to face the wrath of the spooks.

As you say, if push comes to shove we may see some intel on those “powers-that-be”. Maybe who they’ve been calling, maybe who they’ve been sleeping with, maybe how often the White House has hosted them...

If these people have risked 20 years in prison they are beyond just a little bit peeved.

If any of you are reading this, know that I’m ticked off with you, as would be any red-blooded American. Go for it.

One other thing. I was told that the FBI knows the people who forged Obama’s BC and would cover for them.

I hope and pray that Obama has ticked them off to the point that they will NOT cover for him but will actually, instead, expose him.
