The Pentagon for the first time has officially recognized transgender service members in a significant step being hailed by the LGBT community.
The acknowledgement came in the form of a letter to veteran and transgender activist Autumn Sandeen confirming that the Navy had updated its records to show she is a woman.
While still a long way from open transgender service in the military, OutServe-SLDN, an organization for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender service members and their families labeled the move 'symbolic.'
The letter from the Navy official, dated May 2, read: 'Per your request the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) has been updated to show your gender as female effective April 12, 2013.'
Sandeen's military identification card now reflects the change.
'The fact that a process exists [to change the gender listed] indicates that there are people in the Department of Defense who are aware of the needs of transgender retirees and who are working to see those needs met,' OutServe-SLDN executive director Allyson Robinson told BuzzFeed.
'And, in that sense, the significance of this symbolic act for our broader work and for our goal of open service becomes I think a little bit more apparent.'
Gay, lesbian and bisexual service members have been able to serve openly in the military since September 2011, however if transgender people try to do the same they continue to be discharged, according to Buzzfeed....

I don’t see why it can’t be reversed. It’s up to us to vote the right people into office to reverse a slew of bad laws. We have an outstanding farm team in our state legislatures who are voting to nullify obamacare, gun laws and immigration. Get those people into Congress and a whole bunch of bad laws can be rescinded.

Yet again we see how this radical admin has destroyed the military.
I remember a few weeks ago arguing with a serving officer who I might add, told me how he was getting promotion in his national guard that PC and the military has not changed, how cross dressers are not allowed. I forget his name but it summed up to me how some in the military of part time serving think this is alright and it’s not a problem.
I know damn well that my boys will not follow the family tradition and serve and it’s because of crap like this or , having marines hold umbrellas for his lordship.

The next President should cite these issues, cite the results form the reports and state that homosexuals will now not serve in the military, no more cross dressing and also make the entrance exam fitness and mental harder because of right now to get in the marines is only two pull ups which is a joke, running in sneakers is a joke.

I go over to McChord AFB occasionally and can’t believe what I see. Fat dykes walking around in their uniform with their “partner”, or hell “wife” now. Men with guts so big they can’t see their shoes. A young kid carried my groceries out of the commissary the other day and I told him that back in my day if you were overweight you were told to get the lard off or you were getting discharged. Kid goes on to tell me how much harder basic is now than back when I was in and how the “joint force” has them all ready to fight at a moments notice. I asked him was that the reason the uniform of the day is baggy ass desert cammies with brown work boots? I told him how stupid it looked for everyone to look like they worked in Red Horse. Of course he didn’t know what Red Horse was. I also told him there was a time when the Air Force didn’t look like the Army, and it was BS that you can’t tell the services apart. I asked him did anyone ever wear blues anymore. He looked at me like I was crazy. Glad that I served when I did. There is no way I could be in today’s feminized, sodomized, “we all look like soldiers”, Air Force.
My old man was Airborne, his brothers were Pacific Marines.

My father was commo all the way through. In WWII he’d go from a submarine onto the beaches of Japanese-held islands to place the stakes for the commo wire for Marine and Navy units while the frogmen sampled beach sand and scouted out enemy fortifications. In Korea and early Vietnam he was a commo chief in charge of telephone, radio and other people.

All the uniform combinations suck. In the desert they stick out like a sore thumb. The dumb ass uniform board have changed the uniforms numerous times in the past few years and none work in the environment they were designed for.

Try outrunning and outfighting the enemy with an extra 20+ on your gut. There’s a reason our military used to stay in shape and stay on guard. They remembered the past to ready themselves for the possible future.
