A look at why the Benghazi issue keeps coming back

WASHINGTON (AP) — The night of smoke, chaos, gunfire and grenades that killed four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, is well-documented. Eight months later, it is the decisions made back in Washington that remain murky and in perpetual dispute.

Why was a diplomatic outpost left so poorly protected? Should the Pentagon have rushed jets or special forces to the rescue when the assault began? Did President Barack Obama's administration obscure the true nature of the terrorist attack to help him get re-elected?

Congressional Republicans are poking for evidence of incompetence and cover-up in the ashes of the Sept. 11 anniversary attack. Obama dismisses their probes as a politically driven "sideshow."

The release this past week of 100 pages of government emails and notes is the latest fodder, as numerous Benghazi investigations continue.

A look at the issue:

The WH reaction to the terrorist attack, along with the ridiculus cover-up is sufficient to remove this clown from office, IMO.

smuggling weapons ,, staging a kidnapping gone bad ,, who knows? more than a few, it appears,, but will they come forward.. and even if they do, who will be able to protect them or will they become more bodycount.. seems like that is the preferred route for libs in the WH.. like I said who knows? da shadow knows.. and the mole .. is there a mole?

The night of smoke, chaos, gunfire and grenades that killed four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, is well-documented.

Actually, it's not "well-documented" by any means.

We don't know very much about it at all. We certainly don't know why hundreds of highly-trained US forces, equipped with billions of dollars worth of the most sophisticated equipment in the world, prepositioned in Italy and elsewhere for just such a purpose as to mount a rescue operation to save American personnel in danger in the Mediterranean, were not given the green light to do their jobs.

We don't know where the President of the United States was during the hours in which the attack was taking place. We don't know who gave the two separate "stand down" orders that prevented precision bombing of targets that were illuminated at great personal risk by a United States soldier on the scene... who was later killed for his trouble.

We don't know why the survivors were prevented from telling their stories to Congress.

So, as far as I'm concerned, the very first sentence of this story contains a bald-faced lie. Whatever follows isn't journalism, its Journ0lism, i.e. propaganda.

WHAT WAS GOING ON AT THE CIA ANNEX? It is like the media KNOWS that question will start the chain of events that will bring down Obama, and they just can't ask the question.

Only the POTUS had the authority to act!

0bama was notified immediately and automatically when the Benghazi consulate triggered the "Imminent Danger Notification System" alert. He did nothing.

Judge Jeanine Investigates Benghazi Gate Part 4 - 10/20/2012 video 6:53
Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer (U.S. Army ret.), former CIA Station Chief Gary Berntsen and former CIA operative Mike Baker

They confirm everything Col. Hunt said about automatic notifications to the WH and add more details.

Howie Carr interview with Col. Hunt On The Newest Libyan Revelations audio 28:37

There are three scandals here...

---------------------------------------------------------

Denial of prior requests for security were a dereliction of duty.

The lies and misdirection about the "video" after the attack were fraud and malfeasance under the color of authority.

The inaction during the attack was something more than that.

The failure to act during the attack is the direct equivalent of desertion IMO.

ONE man had the authority to act that night.

EXCLUSIVE: CIA operators were denied request for help during Benghazi attack, sources say

0bama refused to act!

This Yahoo/AP report looks like an Obama/Hillary/Carney/Rhodes talking point whitewash to me.

Unfortunately I read past the first lie.

And what follows the first lie are more lies, with each lie targeted to protect Obama's nefarious actions and inactions.

Who do you think is "coming awake"? Read the article. It's crafted with lies to misdirect and coverup, while at the same time trying to look concerned and inquisitive.

We don't know why the people attacking the Embassy took so long to take it... They had the manpower - there was NO PROTEST - a protest was an early lie - they were just armed insurgents... We don't know why the FBI was denied permission to do an on site investigation... until long after any evidence would have been destroyed. CNN was there before the FBI.

Good list Steely Tom...

And if there were 218 House members and 67 Senators like you, we would not be in this mess.

But, given the cards we must play, "Benghazi" isn't going anywhere. Focus on the IRS and the AP - there are crimes there, and proven crimes will get him out.

And - that's another whole issue - WHY hasn't Congress insisted on questioning these people?

“And - that’s another whole issue - WHY hasn’t Congress insisted on questioning these people? “

You’re not serious, are you?

If Congress questioned them, they would find out things they would rather not know, and then they might have to do something, and if they DID something somebody might get mad, and if somebody got mad they might have to get a real job, and if they had to get a real job the bribes would stop, and if the bribes stopped the Georgetown townhouse would go away, and if the townhouse went away the girlfriend who was put up there would leave, and if SHE left they’d be stuck with their wives, and...
