“Det. Mike Delgadillo, 57, died after his 2000 Mazda crashed in an underpass beneath the 55 Freeway near Newport Boulevard and Bristol Street on March 5..”
Well, there you go. Det. Mike Delgadillo should have his picture plastered over every billboard to remind decent folks that this moron stood as a protector of public safety. The good people of the neighborhood where he drove around drunk out of his gourd, need to realize that drunk cops won’t protect you because drunk cops only care about themselves until they crash into a concrete abutment and die,
Plaster this asshole’s picture around the county to warn your children to never trust drunk cops.
He wasn't wearing a seat belt. The other thing he needed to do was shoot himself with his Glock in the accident. That wreck looks walk-away survivable otherwise.

I’m no expert, but it looks that way to me as well. Could he have been impaled by the steering wheel? It doesn’t even look like the windshield broke, damaged, yes, but it’s not like his body went through it. I wonder what happened?
Found another article with the cause listed: blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. RIP.
