Has the IRS Already Seized Your Medical Records?
The American Spectator ^ | May 20, 2013 | David Catron

As gratifying as it was to see the “news” media actually do its job last week when the IRS scandal broke, it was also odd that the coverage focused exclusively on abuses of power relating to various Tea Party and anti-abortion groups. A much scarier IRS story has been virtually ignored by the establishment press. On Wednesday, it was reported that a class-action lawsuit had been filed against a group of IRS agents who, according to the complaint filed by “John Doe Company” in the Southern District of California, “stole more than 60,000,000 medical records of more than 10,000,000 Americans, including at least 1,000,000 Californians.”

Before I get to the feature of this case that will really scare the pants off you, a little more background: This tawdry tale began in 2011 with an IRS investigation concerning one former employee of “John Doe Company” pursuant to which a search warrant was obtained. This warrant didn’t authorize the seizure of anyone’s medical records, but the IRS agents “threatened to ‘rip’ the servers containing the medical data out of the building if IT personnel would not voluntarily hand them over.” They proceeded to seize the records “without making any attempt to segregate the files from those that could possibly be related to the search warrant.”

The purpose of any nationalized health care system is to deny medical treatment to those who oppose tyranny.

True, but it’s also a great fix for the long term funding problems of SS and Medicare.

Every year off the life expectancy is a big savings.

Doctors are now required to have all records entered into a government- mandated computer database, so they have access to your records already. No “siezing” necessary.

Going forward it might not be possible for your doctor to be licensed w/o completing certain paperwork on their patients.

Doesn’t matter. For example,if you have mental health coverage through United Behavioral Health - an arm of United Healthcare - your benefits can be obtained by using your name and date of birth. Then when the claim is paid, the print-out accompanying the Electronic Funds Transfer lists your SS#.

Same info is available through other carriers but may take a bit more ingenuity to get it. Medicare uses your SS# plus a letter at the end.

Bottom line is if it’s out there anywhere it can be obtained by anyone.

"The key to Marxism is medicine."

In other words, control a person's access to medicine and Marxism is complete.

Not totally true. For Medicare they are using the carrot and stick approach. No reduction in payment if you use is the carrot plus at one time they did provide the software. The stick is reduction in payment plus the physician had to pay for the software.

Doctors don’t have to have any records if you are private pay. Billing for commercial insurance goes to a clearing house. Yes, they have some info on your but it is diagnosis code, biographical info and ID number. It is my understanding that this information will be used by the Obamacare bean counters to determine “appropriate” levels of care. If your age is X and your diagnosis is Y, then your allowed treatment will be Z.

The big push was originally at large groups and hospitals, not single providers. The only ones who really saw any benefit from the special software were the companies that were able to sell it.

**************

The doctor is just one small segment in the process. Payments changing hands between medical facilities/insurance/payment centers/banks/clearing houses/etc may contain more info than you think about you and your medical records.

“The purpose of any nationalized health care system is to deny medical treatment to those who oppose tyranny.”

It appears that they are employing any means necessary to rid themselves of all “competition.” With Obamacare, they will simply cause your death by denial of medical care. It’s not really much different than what they’ve done with the myriad of “alphabet soup” federal agencies like the IRS,EPA,OSHA, etc. And silly us, we thought that Muslims were our biggest problem!

Putting the most hated department in government (boy is that saying a lot), the IRS, in charge of CommieCare is nothing more than progressives poking us in the eye and daring us to respond.

Come on, you cannot have this many alphabet departments abusing government power without a agenda of provoking the citizens into action. There can be no other reason for the ammo build up.

Remember Japan waking the sleeping giant? Some of us are awake while others seem to be in a deep stupor.

All the prior articles on this say it was 60,000, not 60,000,000. It doesn’t help our side to put out bogus numbers that become the focus, rather than the theft.
