The Case for Impeachment
American Thinker ^ | 05/21/2013 | Bruce Walker

How ought Republicans to respond to the growing list of indefensible abuses of power by Barack Obama? Consider what he has done. Obama has created the virtual equivalent of an "enemies list" and used the federal government to persecute these opponents of his plans.

Obama has repeatedly and transparently lied to the American people about the misdeeds of his lackeys and his knowledge of those misdeeds. Obama has hidden behind a gaggle of subordinates whose responses to questions sound like the "...to the best of my knowledge at this point in time..." mantra which Richard Nixon's lieutenants recited when called before the House Judiciary Committee in 1974. Barack Obama committed precisely the sort of "high crimes and misdemeanors" which the Founding Fathers intended to be cause for impeachment. Republicans, who control the House of Representatives, should begin the process of investigating whether Obama should be impeached.

Some conservatives will wince at this approach. They will recall the craven Senate Republicans who effectively acquitted Bill Clinton even before his Senate trial began. The 1998 midterm election, which provided modest gains to Democrats, has been taken as proof that Americans did not want Clinton impeached.

But the wrongdoings of Barack Obama are qualitatively different from the wrongdoings of Bill Clinton. Much of what Clinton did involved sexual misconduct and subsequent lying about that misconduct. Hillary was the principal offended party, and she wanted power more than any moral vindication of the Clintons' very strange marriage. What would have happened if Hillary had divorced Bill and denounced him to America? He well may have been forced out of office, but even so, his offenses related to personal misconduct that hurt individuals.

The crimes of Obama are much more serious, and the victim is not his wife or an intern

Just take the original articles of impeachment for Richard Nixon, and cross out his name and write-in Obama’s, and that should cover it.

AND it would make the libtards’ heads explode.

There is absolutely no question now that little barry basatrd boy has acted treacherously toward the American people AND toward the Benghazi people who were killed and left to be captured, raped, and killed. The Fast & Furious episode is yet another Treacherous act by this regime headed by little barry bastard boy and his appointees. It may come as a shock to some, but Treachery is treasonous and treason is the reason to impeach and remove.

Clinton’s misdeeds were not just sexual. There were the 800 FBI files, for one thing. But the Republicans would never have pursued that anyway so it is a moot point, I suppose.

Dream on. No way is a black President going to be impeached.
The results would make the LA riots look like child’s play.

I agree with the author on most of what he has written. I do not see an impeachment proceeding as an attack, though. I see it as a fair and disciplined means to look into what appear to be serious wrongdoings by our President. An impeachment proceeding could also prove his innocence.

He deserves impeachment, but it will never happen. He enjoys protection from having declared himself a member of America’s first and biggest victim group.

A Barrack Hussein Obama sitting in the White Hose, faced with a GOP Conservative majority in COngress and forced to witness the systematic dismantling of his programs, followed by a CRIMINAL prosecution of the bastard after he leaves office would serve us better than an impeachment.

An impeachment would put that other idiot Biden in the White House an give him traction for the next election.

I say let them make him effectively impotent and allow his transgressions to be used to smear his administration, his legacy and Hillary Clinton.

I agree and with how you also worded it yesterday on another thread ....

Ask yourself, “What high crime or misdemeanor” did President Nixon commit? And I mean specifically. Has President Obama reached the standard set by THE DEMOCRATS back in the 1970s? If he has, then justice, and fairness, demands that impeachment proceedings be started.

Don’t waste our time, resources and energy trying to impeach Obozo.

Leave him in office and remove his supporters via the ballot box, file criminal charges and civil charges against his SS troopers in the DOJ, IRS, DOD, HLS and any other 3 or 4 letter symbol of rat hatred towards America.

Conservatives and Republicans would be unwise to pursue President Obama’s impeachment as my colleague Bruce Walker today argues. The odds are the effort would backfire, and there is a much more important goal that should be at the center of our political strategy: sweeping Democrats out of office in 2014 and 2016 in numbers sufficient to enact structural reforms, including replacement of the tax system and junking the IRS and outlawing public employee unions.

I am tired of this worn out lie. Bill Clinton's impeachable misdeed was not the adultery, it was the perjury - a serious felony that undermines the rule of law. As for Obama, his crimes are worse than Richard Milhous Nixon's. Abusing the IRS to harass political opponents is way beyond the gray area that is only 'possibly impeachable'.

Impeachment is the wrong path and will lead to the planned necessary rioting in the streets just before the 2014 elections.

We should be sawing off his three legged stool of support until he collapses.

I’m saying lay out the case for impeachment but don’t vote on it, don’t even bring it to the floor.

And reference your reasoning for not voting on it.

Make sure we pin this enabling of corruption on political correctness, democrats, and black racists.

So, what are the 3 legs of the stool?

The only way impeachment is possible is if an explicit threat to riot for impeachment (which the Sharpton/MSNBC gang will flame) is met with another explicit threat to riot for no impeachment.
