I ust hope that they don’t plant anymore of those stupid Bradford Pear trees up and down the main streets like after the 1999 storm

At least I haven't seen the chorus of idiots that lambasted homeowners that got hit by Sandy for daring to live near a coastline show up here to attack Oklahomans for living in a flat area prone to twisters.

Dear Alexander Abad-Santos:

That's not what happened Alexander, the first bill was laden with pork which had nothing to do with storm relief and you know it.

Alexander, you are a whore to your ideology, and you would suck 0bama's member if given a chance.

Just an hour ago, Shep was interviewing a man who said he didn’t have a jacket for today’s cold weather because he couldn’t find his closet. Shep proudly told the viewers he and his crew were all wearing their jackets. Uh, Shep, how about giving the man your jacket. I’m sure FOX will reimburse you, you tightwad.

OK will be ok. They were out bulldozing at day break. They’ll be rebuilt long before Sandy.

So when the same thing happens to any Oklahoma relief package, will they also vote against that on principle?
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
In that vein, don’t the Senators/Congressmen ONLY vote the way their constituents want?
All Capital Hill is nothing more than a ‘swap meet’ - You vote for me and I will swing my votes your way.

Remember, the multi bills were designed to speed the process up BUT professional pols have figured a way to legally steal and fund their own pet projects on the back of legitimate bills.

We have to get back to where a Mayor’s election should ONLY be funded by those he is going to directly serve, same as a Congressional, Senatorial, and up the line.

Wasn’t that the reason they ‘invented’ matching Federal Funds?

It is ‘disgusting’ that the day after a Congressional election the elected are IMMEDIATELY on the campaign trail raising money etc for the next election, two years down the road.

Used to be considered a joke when one would say “why would someone spend 5 million bucks on a job that pays 200 thou a year” but it is definitely the norm now.

Yes... and it was loud. We have an underground cellar. A mile away it was loud. I can’t imagine what it would have sounded like if it had hit our house.

Sounds like you should google an essay entitled "Not Yours to Give". Here's a link for you... http://www.fee.org/library/detail/not-your-to-give-2

Good reading, and well worth the 10 minutes or less to potentially give you a strong take and idea of constitutional thinking WRT the subject.

Here's a clue, Davy Crockett was shown the error of his ways.

Most of the Sandy victims lived in the flood plain. The fact they would lose their houses was a certainty. The only unknown was when

If so, I think he died last year.

Interesting only in that the Sandy money went to line the pockets of a special porkuluss few. The ground truth area still has not been fixed.

The Senators knew that was going to happen.

Not a lot of pork can be thrown in an OK bill.

Heard this talking point from a bunch or northeasterners yesterday. They wanted an excuse to delight in the hardships of red staters and they found one.

Fact of the matter is, Oklahoma and New Jersey have no business being part of the same country anymore. The people might as well be from different planets.

I’m glad that the tornado missed you, and that you finally have power again. It’s a horrid thing to experience that kind of devastation, and I hope the families there can find a way to build ‘tornado proof’ homes if that means they have to build them partially underground (berm type houses). Moore seems to be a tornado alley within tornado alley and they ‘re bound to go through this again :(

People in OK are fantastic people! I’ve lived in OK and I love it there, and I know first hand what a great people you are!!

Hang in there and continue to be kind to one another. It makes you hands above the rest!

You might keep in mind that the Gov’s in the Sandy case, inflated their $10B in damages to a $60B political payoff, and OK only asks for what it needs.

An inconvenient distinction which the presstitutes will do their best to ignore.

The ‘Sandy Relief’ fund was a grab-bag of kickbacks, grants and sweetheart deals that had nothing whatever to do with Hurrican Sandy.

Good for these Senators.
