Charlie Sheen Uses Birth Name for 'Machete' Sequel Credits (Carlos Estevez)
Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood ^ | 25 May 2013, 3:03 PDT

For the first time ever, actor Charlie Sheen is keeping it real—in a credit sequence, that is.

The Hollywood veteran best known for Two and a Half Men and perennial personal-life mayhem will be credited as "Carlos Estevez," his birth name, in the upcoming action flick Machete Kills, according to Splash News.

TMZ has obtained a screen capture of Sheen's appearance in the film's credit sequence (seen above), which cheekily states, "And Introducing Carlos Estevez."

Sheen took a stage name in the same style as his father Ramón Antonio Gerardo Estévez, better known as Martin Sheen, by the time of his first major film role, 1984's Red Dawn.

His brother Emilio Estevez declined to follow suit. He plays the President of the United States in Machete Kills, the star-studded sequel to 2010's Machete, both directed by Robert Rodriguez.

Breitbart News editor John Nolte's review savaged Machete as "artistically bankrupt" and racist:

“Machete” isn’t about a political call for the powerless to fight THE corrupt MAN, it’s a call for revolution; Mexicans against Americans – and in the words of the character meant to be our evolving conscience, Jessica Alba’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent Sartana, it’s about how those who believe in only LEGAL immigration “deserve to be cut down.”

Splash News attributes Sheen's decision to use his real name in the Machete Kills credits to Rodriguez's "latin pride."

Martin Sheen took the Sheen last name out of honor for Bishop Fulton Sheen.

Talk about apples falling far from the tree!

Many, many years ago, Martin Sheen did a movie supporting the people of the church over the changes in the church. He had it right.

He and Emilio Estevez made a movie about The Camino a few years ago, “The Way.” It made me wish I could make the pilgrimage myself.

In a small way this movie makes a contribution towards creating a Will on the part of the invader to commence an active sack of the Gringo’s wealth. Successful Revolutions are made with factions as low as 2% of the total population; i.e. Lenin in Russia 250,000 Bolsheviks out of a 1917 total Russian population of 100,000,000. Our diversity is our disaster.

Martin Sheen is a very complex man. And yes, you’re right about where the last name came from. The movie The Way is very interesting. I read up on him after watching it.

Yes, "Catholics" (1973) a.k.a. "The Conflict" with Martin Sheen and Trevor Howard -- great, prescient film about the transformation of the Church from a religion based on faith in God into a "social justice" organization oriented toward Man.

Absolutely fantastic movie.. I don’t think it was even in theaters. Hollywood bigs were too busy promoting twilight 4 or something.

Ramón Antonio Gerardo Estévez (AKA Martin Sheen) is half SPANISH, half IRISH. He is a white American of European decent. His dumbass son is making a racist movie about Native American/Mestisos. It continues to blow my mind how racist La Raza types are so pro-Spanish, when it was the Spaniards who wiped out their ancestry and literally forged a new breed. Anyway, I could care less, people can do what they want. But why people are so enthusiastic about being ignorant fools has always befuddled me.

The emphasis on the first syllable is the Anglocized way of pronouncing it...

Absolutely excellent movie. I developed some respect for Martin Sheen and his son Emilio for producing it.

One of my favorite parts is the priest that wears a yarmulke. (grin)

Beautiful scenery and cinematography. Very uplifting.

Sheen and his son actually showed up one day on EWTN - “The World Over” I think - talking about the movie - couldn’t believe my eyes or ears - sounded quite sincere and genuine in his religious beliefs - I’m still trying to reconcile that image with my previous views of him as an irreverent, defiant rabble rouser.....
