Obama’s Sword and Shield - Our president has a deaf ear, no thanks to the KGB.
American Spectator ^ | 5.29.13 | PAUL KENGOR & ION MIHAI PACEPA

Posted on 05/31/2013 10:37:10 AM PDT by neverdem

Call us crazy anti-communists. Tell us we’re conspiracy-minded. Insist that maybe we’ve spent too much time living and studying the Cold War. Either way, this is our business, and we can’t help but notice such things.

In watching President Obama speak on terrorism last week, we were taken aback to hear him say that America needs an anti-terrorism program that is both our sword and our shield. This was a striking choice of words by an American president. Remember the emblem of the KGB? Maybe you don’t, but we do. One of us (Pacepa) spent over two decades working for the KGB community as one of the highest ranking intelligence/military/political officials in the entire Soviet Bloc, and paid with two death sentences for his freedom. The emblem of the KGB was a sword and a shield symbolizing its duties: to put the country’s enemies to the sword, and to shield and protect the communist revolution.

When we initially heard President Obama’s remarks, we thought we might have heard wrong, and so we waited for the written text of his speech...

--snip--

Unfortunately, we’ve become sadly conditioned — by President Obama himself — to notice these often-bizarre coincidences. This was a man who spent his first term engaging in the most strident class-warfare rhetoric we’ve ever heard from an American president. He demonized profits, corporations, Wall Street, corporate executives and fat-cats, the wealthy, millionaires and billionaires, big oil, big banks, bitter-clingers, while touting wealth redistribution, government stimulus, government management, government centralization, and on and on. Much of this was standard Socialist rhetoric. And then, for his 2012 reelection slogan, the president and his handlers chose the communist world’s old socialist battle cry: “Forward!”

So, pardon us for being a little sensitive to these phrases.

The pResident gets up each day at the crack of 10 or 11, and waits for someone to give him The Words.

And he reads The Words with conviction, as if he means it. And he has the skill to say the exact opposite words tomorrow with equal conviction. For the children.

Like Evan Baxter in “Bruce Almighty”, he would earnestly read about his tiny little nipples going to France, if that is what The Words told him to say.

And the people who write The Words like to slip in not-so-obscure references to Socialism, knowing the Praetorian Media will giggle and wink and nod, since they are so much smarter than the sheeple who won't recognize the reference. (Good thing I didnt say snigger- that would be racist)

And if the pResident's toadies and lickspittle had gone after FOX NEWS instead of the Associated Press, the media would be just as earnestly (eagerly?) reporting on how The White House is finally going after... no, INVESTIGATING those evil people who are 'doing damage' to The Country [His Presidency].

But the media are a bit stunned that he is coming after their own 'side'. They AGREE with him. They HELPED him get elected...

Were the Soviet-Era propagandists as gleefully willing as our Fourth Estate? (or should I say fifth-column) At least until they were TOLD what to write at the point of a gun?

Will our media ever even see the gun coming out of the holster towards them, before it its too late?

[hey that's pretty good...]

Mr. K ~:” And he reads The Words with conviction, as if he means it. And he has the skill to say the exact opposite words tomorrow with equal conviction. For the children.”

” For the children.”

“The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation.” – Adolf Hitler [ Mein Kampf, Publ. Houghton Miflin, 1943, Page 403]

AS a Cold War veteran, to hear this elected piece of flesh speak, makes me wish to put a “virtual single rose”, on the virtual “memorial plaque”, for all those who died in their attempts to “get over the wall” into the American Sector, whispering, “We have failed you.”

Didn't the DNC 'accidentally' have Russian War ships used at the nomination? There were others too. Maybe some wise freeper could make a list.

From 1947 when Stalin was their hero because he had been an ally during WW2 and hadn’t been exposed for the monster he was.

Here’s W.E.B. Du Bois on Stalin, Du Bois was the hero of Paul Robeson, Robeson was responsible for Frank Marshall Davis going to Hawaii in 1948...

http://www.mltranslations.org/Miscellaneous/DuBoisJVS.htm

From the National Guardian
March 16, 1953

On Stalin
By W.E.B. DuBois

Joseph Stalin was a great man; few other men of the 20th century approach his stature. He was simple, calm and courageous. He seldom lost his poise; pondered his problems slowly, made his decisions clearly and firmly; never yielded to ostentation nor coyly refrained from holding his rightful place with dignity. He was the son of a serf but stood calmly before the great without hesitation or nerves. But also - and this was the highest proof of his greatness - he knew the common man, felt his problems, followed his fate...

There you have the heroes of Malcolm X who spent more time in Africa plotting with the likes of Du Bois and his wife Shirley Graham Du Bois, living under the protection of the dictator Nkrumah who ruined the economy of his country and after he was deposed and W.E.B. Du Bois was dead, Shirley and Nukrumah lived in exile with Stokely Carmichael in Guinea before she finally spent the rest of her life in China.
Die-hard communists all of them, including Maya Angelou who, after working with David Du Bois, son of Shirley in Cairo, also picked up a plumb job in Ghana under Nkrumah.
They all had it going good while their dictator friends were in power, and the population suffered, and hated the black US expats who they saw as the new colonialists.

But they were the poor, down-trodden people now known as african-americans and all they wanted was a Mau Mau in America, according to Malcolm, whose then ambition was to force the United States to hand over certain Southern States as a homeland. Or else. By any means necessary.

From W.E.B. Du Bois to Paul Robeson, to Frank Marshall Davis, and the glorious revolution, Odes to Stalin, visits to Mao, then the Organisation of Afican Unity and Malcolm...

To You Beloved Comrade by Paul Robeson

... remember the tears began to quietly flow. and I too smiled and waved Here was clearly a man who seemed to embrace all. So kindly - I can never forget that warm feeling of kindliness and also a feeling of sureness. Here was one who was wise and good - the world and especially the socialist world was fortunate indeed to have his daily guidance. I lifted high my son Pauli to wave to this world leader, and his leader. For Paul, Jr. had entered school in Moscow, in the land of the Soviets...
