Southern Baptists Plan to Leave Boy Scouts 'En Masse.'
Newser ^ | June 2, 2013 | Ruth Brown

(Newser) – The Boy Scouts of America's decision last month to allow gay members was made with the blessings of many churches and religious groups—but not all of them. And here's a pretty significant opponent: The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in America with 45,000 congregations and 16 million members, says it will now urge its followers to leave the Scouts, reports CNN. The Boy Scouts says Baptist churches currently sponsor nearly 4,000 units, containing more than 100,000 kids.

The Southern Baptist Convention will vote on a resolution to disaffiliate with the Scouts this month, and a spokesperson says he expects 99% of people to vote in support of it. "Southern Baptists are going to be leaving the Boy Scouts en masse," he says.

“The BSA committed suicide. It will be insolvent inside a year.”

The BSA was in an unwinnable situation. They fought all the way to the Supreme Court and won, but that unleashed the fanatics to relentlessly attack its sponsors. Stay the course, no sponsors, no money. Change course to make sponsors happy, everyone pulls their kids out. Either way they were doomed. This of course is not a problem for the fanatics that attacked the BSA. They never cared about scouting. They pretented to so they could work to destroy it from the inside. The main goal all along was to destroy the BSA since it was a traditional American organization and it opposed them.

the majority if Christian churches fully support homosexuality and gay marriage,

Two questions: Where do you live and is the Christian world allowed to send missionaries there?

There is likely a lot of truth to this. I heard the org was being infiltrated over a number of years.

well, I am a former Methodist (check)
I come from a town with a homosexual woman as Lutheran pastor, she took off Christmas week to go on cruise with her girlfriend (check)
I could have gone down the street to the UCC but ... “all paths lead to God” uh no thanks (check)
The Presbys have a nice church, and the pastor had a very attractive wife and nice family but a homosexual prostitute he met in the big city beat him up pretty bad (check)

Now I go to Mass every week but haven’t made the plunge yet

ask the Catholic Church hierarchy that protected a legion of pedophiles

At least it was against doctrine and not part of it like in a lot of the protestant churches

There will be plenty of money coming in to keep the BSA around from Hollywood and George Soros types.

Ok, that seems to be more of what I’m looking for BUT, they are a UK based organization. I wonder if there is any prominent Christian leaders that would be willing to establish a US based organization of similar construction and purpose.

I wonder if it would be possible to get the Focus on Family group involved.

Then, unfortunately, former boy scouts and their leaders need to go into a kind of exile. Boys will miss out, other than the outdoor experiences that their parents give them, but this is the bitter medicine that all of us may need to take.

I expect the BSA to implode - soon! When that happens, there will need to be a demand for the re-occupation of a 'new" OLD Boy Scouts by principled former scout leaders. To create alternative organizations will lessen this demand as boys and their families will be preoccupied with their new organizations. Also, creating alternative boys' organizations will just create new targets for the highly emboldened homo-Nazis to attack. And attack, they will with vengeance.

There is nothing more effective than taking back ground from the enemy. It completely demoralizes them and bolsters the defenses of the ground regained by conservatives. Rest assured, if traditionalists retake the Scouts, there will be very little change of it falling to leftists again.

Just my opinion.

They would have found more sponsors had they stuck it out.

They also could have cut back, IMO there have been some extra programs since I was in in the 60’s and 70’s. We did most of our time at camp. My son’s troop spent most of theirs in a building making crafts and doing meaningless skits. Hence they lost him after hearing my tails of scouting in my youth.

They lack good sense and react with sanctimonious zeal like jihadists

Given Jesus said, "Be ye Holy as I am Holy", I'd bet you'd have the same statement and feelings about him as well, right?
