They’d been off the charts for a few years, and this was their big comeback record. It debuted at #56 on its way to the Top 10.

I love the little rain we’ve gotten and the weathers has been good to me, but time ... where does it go? I had a close friend in the Hospice this week and I spent some time there before he passed yesterday morning. I’ve been tieing up as many loose ends as possible before I rejoin the workforce Monday. I still haven’t had time to write you the FReepmail I owe and Tomorrow is all designated garden scramble to get the rest of my corn and beans in if the rain passes us by. Andrea seems to be hugging the coast and should be well on the way to New England by tomorrow, but I’m still hoping it makes some rain tonight. It was overcast all day, but not a drop.

Music videos were become a major marketing tool for movies, and this one marketed an Eddie Murphy venue when he was at the top of his career, coming off “Saturday Night Live”. This was supposed to be a Mickey Rourke movie, but it ended up establishing a franchise for Murphy. It came in at #3 this week.

This was to become Dennis Miller’s theme song for a goodly number of years, and I love the juxtaposition of six against two in the rhythm. It came in at #1 this week.

Tears for Fears: “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”

And so we end one week of music history 28 years ago. See you tomorrow night! Cue the Rockumentary theme!
