Children from Newtongrange Primary visited the Central Mosque in Potterrow, but from an original group of 90 pupils, 28 were withdrawn.
The trip had been organised to help educate the primary one, two and five pupils about other religions and cultures.
But one parent today said they didn’t want their child “mixed up in the hate being preached in mosques”.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the wake of the killing of soldier Lee Rigby in London, and David Cameron’s pledge to “drain the swamp” of extremism.
Religious leaders and Midlothian councillors condemned parents pulling their children out the trip, but one 42-year-old parent of a P2 pupil, who did not take part, said: “I don’t agree with sending my child to a mosque to learn about a religion that isn’t my own. It’s the hate that is being preached in these mosques that I don’t want my child mixed up in.”

It is not known whether girls who attended the mosque were asked to wear headscarves or long leggings. For those who didn’t attend, the school laid on an alternative lesson on Islam.

Certainly this was based much more on fear of the KNOWN, not as the Moslem in this article claimed fear of the unknown.

These false claims that Muslims are being victimized are designed to deflect attention away from jihad attacks and suggest that it would be dangerous to innocent people to resist jihad.
Hamas-CAIR is on its way to England to show other Muslims how to milk the system. A UK organisation has received a total of £375,000 from the UK government since last year.
For those who didn’t attend, the school laid on an alternative lesson on Islam.
Did that lesson explain that islam is the most oppressive religious/political/social system ever established on earth? Did it teach the requirement to kill non-believers? Did it teach the requirement to treat their own women as dirt?

Yep, and the Nazis also used the victim card to justify their treatment of Jews. You have to keep a sharp eye on those who call themselves victims, because it justifies a lot of things in their minds.
Looks like Muslims are the bullies.
Next they’ll be demanding non-muslim women wear the burkha to show they aren’t racists.
Cameron is going to drain the swamp of extremism? Step #1 is send all muslims to the Middle East. Step #2 is destroy all mosques in the UK. Step #3 is forbid a muslim from ever again setting foot on UK soil. Only then will the swamp be drained.
Did they base the lesson on the given principle that the Koran is Satan’s Scripture?
Who are the mosques and the school board to ‘condemn’ parents for not wanting to participate? Whose kids are these?
Government thinks that all kids belong to them [ takes a village, etc. ]
