An interesting item from the Guardian Q&A with Snowdon:

"Q: But isn't there a need for surveillance to try to reduce the chances of terrorist attacks such as Boston?

A: "We have to decide why terrorism is a new threat. There has always been terrorism. Boston was a criminal act. It was not about surveillance but good, old-fashioned police work. The police are very good at what they do."

A very Obamaesque view of terrorism. Police Work. Arrest the terrorists after the terrorists have done their work.

...would hope he’d have the sense to have a bargaining chips.

A 'puter geek with four years inside NSA as a consultant????

He probably has a few bags of those chips....

(Sheesh, no wonder the Biggies around DC have all vanished...this could well and truly be the week the SHTF, and it's actually happening to them for a change.)

Would he ever be free from certain retribution regardless?

I think he already knows that. Maybe that he has epilepsy and may not have a long lifespan helped make his decision. Regardless, a brave, brave man. A real-life Jason Bourne.

[. . .that is to say the late Edward Snowden. Only 29. Wow.]

He may be a mathematician, some of whom are child geniuses.

Well, let’s just apply the previous Secretary of State’s judgement on him...

Since he’s already spilled it all to the media, why bother to prosecute?

What difference would it make?!

Hopefully he realizes that the people powerful enough to want this database and ‘make it happen’ will likely seek retribution against his family as well.

I’m surprised someone so young can differentiate between right and wrong while working for the govm’nt.

He gave his life, his freedom for Us. Thank you.

Now back to Benghazi....

I’ve said repeated that the RNC needs to start a whistleblower defense fund. I bet several people like Trump would contribute the first few million dollars.

You should recognize that this guy is almost certainly a big lib and a big Obama supporter. Time will tell on that but there are clues in the interview and the Guardian Q&A.

"Consider the source. The Guardian is a left-wing UK paper."

They also break real news about American scandals that our own media doesn't. The Guardian just reported our newest scandal about the NSA collecting data from millions of Americans. It has been in the news for the last couple days. Google NSA + Verizon. I know - it's tough to keep up with the weekly Obambi intrusions on our liberties and his on-going commie control agenda of our lives.

Let's look back in no certain order:

Never mind...to many to list.

“How the # is that jackass, Manning, a whistleblower?”

In Manning’s case I view him as “the enemy of my enemy is my friend! While Manning was less sophisticated in what he did, he has also “outed” our government and showed us just how corrupt it all is.

You do not get what I am telling you.

It is over. Legislation won’t protect him from the very agency and regime he blew the whistle on.

The regime doesn’t care about legislation or law. Realize the size and scope of these scandals already...and the regime doesn’t care!?!

“Or worse, as Representative Kelly’s rant yesterday noted, “the American people are outraged and yet you are not.” There is a unique peculiarity of the administration to fake outrage and now to not even show outrage at the abuses of government employees” http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3021017/posts

I do not know why this guy did this now, but my heart is telling me he is counting on us, yes us... his fellow partiots...to take action. First and foremost he needs appropriate protection and I do not know how we can do that? I trust there are others who are already stepping up to help him.

He didn't vote for Obama. But he didn't vote for Romney either.

From the Q&A:

"A lot of people in 2008 voted for Obama. I did not vote for him. I voted for a third party. But I believed in Obama's promises. I was going to disclose it [but waited because of his election]. He continued with the policies of his predecessor."

I’m fully aware of what this regime is capable of. They are extra-legal and have been since they took office.

The only thing that will protect this man is a high-profile co-ordinated effort by congress. A private bill would give him the fig leaf of “legal protection.” He will for the rest of his life have to live in a public bubble that might make him too important to kill.

Maybe that will be enough. Maybe.
