Environmental activist Erin Brockovich, portrayed by Julia Roberts in a 2000 movie about her fight over the pollution of a California town, was arrested on suspicion of boating while intoxicated at Lake Mead near Las Vegas, authorities said Sunday.
Brockovich was arrested late Friday night after breath tests showed her blood-alcohol level was just over twice the legal limit of .08, said Edwin Lyngar, spokesman for the Nevada Department of Wildlife.
A game warden noticed she was struggling and needed assistance while trying to moor her motor boat at the Las Vegas Boat Harbor, he said. Brockovich had been out on the boat with a male companion but was alone when she tried to dock it.
"She was not sure how to maneuver the boat into the dock," Lyngar told The Associated Press. "It's a simple thing if you can think clearly. But if you add alcohol and unfamiliarity of the area, it can all cause serious problems."

I knew them before they were cool. Actually, I didnt even know that they were known outside of L.A.

Boating while intoxicated. Why is that even news? Around here I don’t think you’re even allowed to go out in a boat unless you have at least one ice chest full of chilled beers.
And blonde
erin drunkenb1tch?
“They’re called boobs, Ed.”
Guess that didn’t work this time around...
Back when I drank, booze would hit really fast and twice as hard if I was on a boat out in the sun.

Dear Erin’s #6.
THANK GOD us peasants supplied the money at gunpoint to pay this game warden.
Who knows? She might have even killed one of the King’s deer. Wonder if the game warden’s supervisor, Sir Guy of Gisborne, had his game warden cuff her across the face for mouthing off?
Is there NOWHERE one can go to evade the Eye Of Government Scrutiny?
I live on the Colorado River. Drunk boaters, particularly jet skiers are a menace to everyone. People get killed every year by them.
1. Does this mean that Brockovich's boat is as fast as a car, or is this just your personal anecdote?
2. Do you believe in having 30/40/50 dollar an hour "game wardens" hanging around on the government dime (your peasant dime) to pinch malefactors?
I don't think the Founders would have approved - AT ALL.
What about a C-Scow?
So? Screw the Police State. Constitutionalists and Declarationists don't support having a bunch of overpaid jackboots hanging around on the peasant dime.
(Psssst - disagree with me, or you might become a "person of interest" for the NSA).
Moar government is better government.
Yes, I approve of enforcing laws (voted on by the people) to arrest DRUNK boaters who kill other boaters every freaking day!
Next thing you they will telling you to call before you dig.
Exactly!
Some people seem to think the laws we voted for aren’t supposed to be enforced.
Next thing you know and the jackboots will be telling us to drive on the right side of the road and HORROR! Under speed limit!
I don’t know. Where I grew up in a heavily populated coastal region, we used to do all kinds of wacky things.
Boating while drinking was just not done. The dregs of the dregs of the fellas would forbid it. Well, they were probably one arrest away from serous time, I don’t know. And this was years ago when people read and thought and had freedoms like that of speech.
But we didn’t drink and boat.
Well now that I think of it the re was a little but there was a designated driver.
Anyone who wanted the priveledge of driving or owning a boat took that seriously.
Lake Mead is patrolled?
