DETROIT New numbers from Public Policy Polling show Rand Paul has a slight edge over a crowded field of Republican contenders in very early numbers for the 2016 primary.
The poll showed 18 percent of primary voters in Michigan say he would be their first choice for 2016, followed by Jeb Bush at 16 percent, Chris Christie at 15 percent, Paul Ryan at 12 percent, Marco Rubio at 11 percent, Ted Cruz at 7 percent, Rick Santorum at 6 percent, Bobby Jindal at 4 percent, and Susana Martinez with less than 1 percent.
On the Democratic side, recent polls showed Hillary Clinton with a commanding lead, leading challengers at 68 percent.

Oh. my. gawd. Jeb Bush at 16%?! Christie 15%?!
And yet Rand Paul still supports his own form of Amnesty.
Go figure.
Seems a lot of the base is still too busy with their lives to go to the trouble and investigate the policy positions of politicians they support.
” Ultra-conservative Rand Paul, a senator from Kentucky, is active in the Tea Party., and pro-amnesty.”
Cruz for President. Rand is still head and shoulders above the two Dem-Lite(R) candidates.
Rand Paul is the only person that can stop the Jeb/Christie/McCain/Graham wing from taking over. The Bushbots are already out in full force trying to take him down.
Jeb and Fat-Ass near the top? Sadly, no hope for change in 2016 either...
Sounds like he’d win in Mexico too?
No. He doesn't. In fact, he just said that he would block the current sh*tpile of a bill if things weren't fixed.
Your PDS is showing.
I've noticed. On every thread he comes up on they are there trying to paint him as being for a "blanket Amnesty" despite him saying no such thing.
the act of an authority (as a government) by which pardon is granted to a large group of individuals
After ensuring border security, then I would normalize the status of the 11 million undocumented citizens so they can join the workforce and pay taxes. I would normalize them at a rate of about 2 million per year. I would start with Dream Act kids, children brought here illegally as minors. Normalization would get them a temporary Visa but would not put them ahead of anyone already waiting to enter the country. These undocumented persons would now be documented but they would still have to wait in line like everyone else. But their path to permanent legal status would be no faster than those currently waiting in line.
There is no reason why a great country like ours wouldnt want to keep those like Jonathan Chavez, who came here as a small child from Peru and has a 4.0 at the University of Arkansas.
I’m surprised Cruz is doing so well after such a short amount of time in office.
Let’s do it your way. If they look like a foreigner, shoot ‘em...
This is public policy polling. In the real world the only man to come close to Romney was Santorum who tied him. Even McCain lost Michigan to Romney by some 9 points in 08.
I could support Santorum or Cruz.
Ok... how? And exactly which laws? The Federal laws Holder is already not enforcing? Or the State laws that Holder won’t let them enforce?
