Hilarious, how do you “luck out” of what they claim is an irresistible proven scientific fact???

CO2 levels are a function of global temperatures, not a cause, because the oceans are a massive CO2 sink. When the ocean temperature rises, CO2 is expelled. When ocean temperatures fall, CO2 is absorbed. You can see it in microcosm with the Mauna Luoa data.

we have lucked out in recent years

Ah I see the science must still be settled. The new data is "luck" not actual empirical readings.

This really amusing article illustrates the twisted logic the alarmists are left with now. There hasn't been significant warming in the last 15 years, which is very strange and we need to understand why. But the "deniers" who point that fact out are still wrong. The "heat" has to be somewhere, you see, because the alarmists' calculations couldn't be wrong. Maybe it's in the deep sea? Yeah, that's the ticket.

Or maybe it's hiding under our beds?

Puleeeeze, NYT, leave science to trained adults who have achieved rear degrees in real science.

And, shove your toy science up your collective smelly Obamas.

The slowdown is a bit of a mystery to climate scientists.

The mystery is your magical models, and you're not scientists you are Marxists.

The situation highlights important gaps in our knowledge of the climate system.

We've been telling you that for more than 15 years. But you had to believe Algore instead of us.

Pssst—they now call it “climate Change”. It’s SOOOO gay, it can go either way.

I would write a sarcastic comment but I am under 20 - 20 = 0 feet of water caused by Global warming here in West Texas .... oops, maybe not.

They are assumning, ignorantly that warming would be a bad thing.

So, if past is prologue, this current plateau will end at some point, too, and a new era of rapid global warming will begin. That will put extra energy and moisture into the atmosphere that can fuel weather extremes, like heat waves and torrential rains.

If that's the best can do to alarm the proles, they might as well hang it up and try a new shtick. How about: by mining the earth and building more structures on the earth's surface, especially tall buildings, we are increasing the earth's moment of inertia, slowing its rotation, with a myriad of bad consequences eventually including cats and dog lying together

If atmospheric CO2 was the actual cause of global warming, you'd think the geniuses at the IPCC would be screaming to stop one of its most significant sources: coal seam fires. I've listened for such calls: crickets. Their main worry is American manufacturing and automobile CO2 sources.

Huge coal fires have raged around the world for generations. Sources say their annual CO2 release equals or exceeds all U.S. sources. Yet there's silence from Gore and his flying monkeys. That automatically makes them hypocrites.

Anyone who spends even a modest amount of time reading about the history of Earth's climate written by real scientists, not IPCC junk scientists, will quickly learn climate change is continuous and has occurred over the entire history of the world. They'll also learn there have been many warmer periods than the present during previous interglacials, and that CO2 increases follow warm periods and don't precede them. There's an enormous amount of real research available to disprove the junk science, but the IPCC prefers GIGO computer models.

I was pretty consistent with my attendance at the 20 or so science and math classes I took in college, but somehow I managed to miss that lecture on “luck” as part of the scientific method.

Lucked out? It’s freezing here in Ontario. Cold, raw, wet. I would welcome a little bad luck any day now in the form of a sunny warm day.

Too funny. Science is making a hypothesis, designing an experiment, predicting an outcome based on that hypothesis and analyzing and comparing the results. They made their hypothesis, we’ve now had 15 years of temperature data since the hype and there has been no correlation between CO2 emmissions and global temperatures (www.drroyspencer.com). Maybe there is some link, don’t know for sure. But what we do know is that their theory of how CO2 and global temperature interact and their models of that interaction have been completely disproven.
