Climate change study is grim reading

Governments around the world have just received one of the most important scientific reports ever written. It provides the starkest assessment yet of how the earth's climate is responding to rising levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and creating risks for billions of people from extreme weather events and rising sea levels.

Compiled for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change by 255 scientific experts from universities and research institutes in 38 countries, the report provides an up-to-date overview of the findings of thousands of recent peer-reviewed research papers.

Most important, the latest IPCC report includes an analysis of new computer projections of how global warming might develop by the end of the century. The initial results show that, at current rates of emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, the average global temperature could be at least three degrees centigrade higher by the end of this century than it was before the onset of the Industrial Revolution and widespread burning of fossil fuels.

1. Global Warmists should be able to say conclusively what temperature is optimum.

2. Global Warmists’ models that show rampant global warming by such-and-such date, should also be able to tell us what hurricane or tornado, etc. is coming. As a minimum, they should be able to take historical experienced weather data and input it into their models and accurately correlate the models’ outputs with the later experienced data.

If they can’t do either, they are snake oil hucksters.

Can’t hear you. Can’t hear you . . .

Can’t hear you because we are underwater now due to the sea levels rising.

Just as predicted by Al Gore and other Global-Warming-Scare-Mongers.

Oh. wait!

No we’re not.

It’s just rain.

Their models suck.

We are still colder than the Middle Ages Warming Period, which was a natural warming cycle, which they tried to refute as a localized phenomena but failed, since it was proven to be global. They cannot explain nature, yet they can explain Co2?

We are within natural variation.

When you have to omit data or generate completely false experienced data, you don’t have a model. You have nothing more than an over-blown curve-fitting equation built on useless data inputs which outputs future data in the range desired.

At this point in time, what does it matter?

I keep seeing the words might and could.

That is pretty typical scientist language. As a rule, scientists do not say anything with certainty, since (unless they are describing something backed up with decades of evidence and observation) there is always the possibility that the observations are incomplete or the evidence has been interpreted wrong.

The people to watch out for are those who describe scientific matters in language of absolute certainty. Science is not infallible. Anyone who claims otherwise is probably a quack.

Well it would be a biotch but almost every dimrat would die due to dependence upon government for everything. They would starve waiting on FEMA to bring them food. Bring on the ice if that is what GOD’s plan is.

"Grim reading"...?

It provides the starkest assessment yet of how the earth's climate is responding to rising levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and creating risks for billions of people from extreme weather events and rising sea levels.

Hmm... This sounds VERY familar... Oh yeah!

Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects. They concede that some of the more spectacular solutions proposed, such as melting the Arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot or diverting arctic rivers, might create problems far greater than those they solve... The longer the planners delay, the more difficult will they find it to cope with climatic change once the results become grim reality.

Meet the new alarmists, same as the old alarmists.
