A southeast Texas town with a history of racial unrest on Monday fired two white police officers recently captured on video slamming a black womans head into a countertop and wrestling her to the ground. The amount of force used was abominable, the woman's attorney, Cade Bernsen, told Yahoo News. The incident was captured by security cameras at the Jasper, Texas, police headquarters. Keyarika "Sha" Diggles, 25, was brought to the jail on May 5 for an unpaid fine, according to Bernsen. He said she was was on the phone with her mother trying to arrange to get the $100 owed when Officer Ricky Grissom cut off the call. Theres no audio on the video, but Diggles and Grissom were apparently arguing when Officer Ryan Cunningham comes in behind Diggles and attempts to handcuff her. When she appears to raise her hand, Cunningham grabs Diggles by the hair and slams her head into a countertop. The officers wrestle Diggles to the ground before dragging her by her ankles into a jail cell. She got her hair pulled out, broke a tooth, braces got knocked off
it was brutal, Bernsen said.

Mind you, this was a small potatoes thing - a $100 fine. The woman was on her cell phone trying to get her mother to come in with the money, the officer cut her off, she put her phone down, she picked up the orange jumpsuit and headed toward the door to change - and then she said something that p.o'd the cop big time.
Dumb, dumb, dumb cops ... whoop on a woman ... on camera ... THEN ... “Hey Fred .. pull ‘er out’a sight of the camera”
I know at least 7 Keyarika’s, I wonder if this is one of them....
“A southeast Texas town with a history of racial unrest “
Every town in the USA has a history of racial unrest.
I didn’t find this one terribly shocking. She was mouthy and she resisted. They didn’t kick and beat her, they didn’t taze her. She wouldn’t let them cuff her, they threw her down. They went a bit rough, they have been fired. It’s done.
Yeah, but Jasper has a particularily nasty claim to fame....

Looks to me like she didn’t resist the initial orders. She resisted being crowded up against a wall and cuffed - which makes it hard to get into the jumpsuit, which was the initial order.
Why cuff someone for being mouthy? A thick skin is a job requirement for a police officer.
So.... does she understand what it feels like to be George Zimmerman ?
Too much about race here. In the original article too, although race could have been a factor.
But it all boils down to police officers without self-control or self-discipline losing their tempers and reacting physically over some stupid insulting words.
But in the cultural southwest most places outside of the big cities have become pretty mixed racially. You see every combination of couplings and most couples which are heterogeneous have family members who are in mixed marriages.
The only thing locals would pay attention to was the head slamming thing. Well that and cops here in Texas are less and less servants of the people and More and more revenuers. I had a local cop tell Me they are actually not allowed to sit parked on the shoulder providing light while someone changes a flat tire in his department.
Lines of connection between law enforcement and the public have been intentionally severed by the enforcement side in many jurisdictions.
I wasn’t referring to race, or intending to.
I was referring to having someone take you to the ground and beat on your head, whether it be a cop or a ghetto thug.
Both cases seem to be about thinking you have the ‘power’ to get away with abusing another human.
2) There is no sound with the video. There is no way to know just how mouthy this woman was. Did the officers use too much force? I don't know. From all that is shown in the two different videos I watched, there is not enough evidence to make that determination.
3) The two different news reports I watched both were heavily playing the race angle. One brought in the Jame's Byrd Jr. incident, which is totally inappropriate to this case.
Sha’Diggle ma Niggle, fo’ real!
Not at all. People think Travyon=good; Zimmerman=bad.
Mama always told me that ‘sticks and stones may break my bones, but words would never harm me’. Now days that should be amended to say ‘unless thay are said to a cop with a bad attitude’.
