Neb. Christian College Expels Lesbian, Charges Tuition [Pics in URL] Danielle Powell, right, and her spouse Michelle Rogers are

June 12, 2013. OMAHA, NEB. Danielle Powell was going through a hard time in the spring of 2011, just months away from graduating from a conservative Christian college in Nebraska. She had fallen in love with another woman, a strictly forbidden relationship at a school where even prolonged hugs were banned.

Powell said she was working at a civil rights foundation in Mississippi to finish her psychology degree when she was called back to Grace University in Omaha and confronted about the relationship. She was eventually expelled — then sent a bill for $6,000 to reimburse what the school said were federal loans and grants that needed to be repaid because she didn't finish the semester.

Powell is now fighting the Omaha school, arguing that her tuition was covered by scholarships and that federal loans wouldn't need to be repaid in that amount. She also notes she was kicked out even after undergoing months of counseling, spiritual training and mentoring insisted upon by the school following her initial suspension.

"I shouldn't have this debt hanging over me from a school that clearly didn't want me," the 24-year-old said.

Sounds similar to Fluke. If you want to be deviant, why in GOD’S NAME would you apply to a CHRISTIAN college?

Am I allowed to walk around a Hindu college with a KFC? No.

She signed an agreement stating she would follow all the rules. She broke that contract. Grace U is a great school. They are strict and they let you know that going in. You don’t have to go there if you don’t like the rules.

I think that’s a good point. I was thinking the school may have made some mistakes. The school should have the right to kick the kid out if she was operating outside the Christian colleges required guidelines. I was thinking some of the tuition charge may have been flawed based on the idea they kicked her out.

The school may have a very good reason why they did what they did, that may make total sense. As you said CBaSs won’t be sharing that information if it did.

I’d want to dig a bit to see if it looked like a set up. Often, something like this is. Also I wonder how much care the school put into trying to be sure the students coming in were believing Christians.

She knew the rules. She broke them. No sympathy.

She had fallen in love with another woman...

So states the article. And that is a BIG LIE. The deviancy of homosexuality knows not love. It may be some form of attraction, perhaps lust, but it's certainly not love. God Himself is the author of love and it's well known what He thinks of sodomy.

Oh please setup. For what reason can you think of?

I wonder how much care the school put into trying to be sure the students coming in were believing Christians.

DUH! She wasn't applying for a job. She signed to obey the rules which are clear. It's not that the school didn't want her, she didn't want to obey the rules.

It’s awfully easy to “fake” being a Christian for entrance requirements. I attended a private Baptist college my first year and my roommate was a raving heathen, although a “Christian testimony” essay and recommendation had to be included with each application.

Additionally, it’s a balancing act for a small Christian college, which turns away potential students at their own fiscal peril by screening them too stringently while trying to ensure a genuinely Christian student body. They pretty much have to take their word for it, absent any conspicuous evidence.

Curious how “realife” lesbians don’t look anything like the Hollywood lesbos, isn’t it? Like Rush says, this is just a lot of fuss about nothing, really. If these women were halfway attractive or even put some effort into it, they wouldn’t BE lesbians.

Danielle Powell, right, and her spouse Michelle Rogers are photographed in Omaha, Neb.

Same sex marriage is illegal here in Nebraska so calling the other woman her 'spouse' is inaccurate.

KFC might be OK but I imagine a burger would be frowned upon.
