Rove is a liar. Rubio is a liar. Obama is a liar.

I'm sensing a pattern here.

These immigration bills are meaningless. There are already numerous Federal laws that deal with border security, deportation of illegals and aliens convicted of felonies. If an administration for political purposes ignores or refuses to enforce the law, additional legislation accomplishes nothing. Democrats want loyal voters, big corporations and farmers want cheap labor, and hard core leftists want to destroy white dominance. As long as there is miserable poverty in most of the world, people will come here whatever laws are in the books.

Everybody keeps talking about a “Path to citizenship”.

Would somebody besides me just talk to these illegal immigrants? THEY DON’T WANT CITIZENSHIP!

They want to earn money here for at least 5 years, and then go home and live well.

Dear Mr. Rove,
When someone plays fast and loose with the truth,
it’s the truth that suffers.

T raditionally
E mancipated
A merican

Freed of oppressive government by the founding fathers,
we preserve freedom for our posterity,
by our own hands.

I seem to recall that in the 1980s we were dealing with more of an influx of "political refugees" from the war-torn countries of Central America, than with opportunistic Mexicans. The movie "El Norte" came out during that period.

I was around in 1986 as well, and my memory is that this bill was peddled as the final solution to the immigration mess—Once passed, we’d never have to deal with the issue again.

Worked out pretty well, huh?

The current Amnesty bill must be stopped.call congress.

30 million illegals get Amnesty to vote in 2014 election

those 30 million can bring in 50 million more of their relatives still in the 3rd world.

30 million more illegals will invade to do the “under the table” jobs

untold millions will cross into the USA to get in on the
Amnesty bonanza.

if this bill passes the USA is done

these representatives in Congress are traitors against
Americans .

What do we do sit here and complain on the Internet when we should be protesting in the streets, outside of Congress as they prepare to give Amnesty to these immigrant creeps.protests, marches, no we sit here while they take our country away.

At least we should be calling Congressmen non stop, emailing , twitter ,paper letters( an effective method) etc.

I am writing something up to give these congressmen a piece of my mind

I was around then and I remember people departing for the US from Asia after the bill passed with every intention of using fraudulent means to prove they were here in 82. And it worked. Lots of immigrants used false or borrowed documents..even new ID’s to get their permanent residence. There was very little review of the documents. I’m sure the same thing will happen again. It is simply too many people to process and it is to easy to come up with false documents.
Document fraud is already a big factor in our immigration problems..this will just make it more possible.

. . . big corporations and farmers want cheap labor . . .

And there's the big rub. Once the illegals become legal, they will have to be paid in accordance with US labor rates (laws this administration is willing to enforce). Once the labor savings evaporates, there will still be a need to import third-world slave laborers.

With all due respect, because I like Ed Meese, both men tend to view the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act in a somewhat naive light.

The act required documentary evidence of an alien’s presence in the US for the statutory period. It therefore spawned an international industry in forging and counterfeiting documents, which occupied a great majority of the INS’s Investigation assets for no less than 20 years.

Farm labor contractors, employers and other peripheral figures got rich off selling these phony documents to ineligible aliens, and the entire affair resulted in far more than the estimated 2 million legalized aliens, massive fraud, and exponentially increased northbound cross-border traffic. It was a disaster, and this one will eclipse it more than tenfold.

None of us who worked the street then have positive recollections like Meese and Rove. They were completely above and unaffected by the reality of the law.

Cheap labor impedes the innovation in farming. Robots and flying monkeys would lower the prices on produce.

I believe that most of the illegal immigrants currently in this country
couldn’t give a rat’s ass about whether they become “citizens” or not.
Most of them did not come here seeking to be a part of the system,
they are just happy to leech off of it.

I also recall the 1986 amnesty as intended to be the first and the last amnesty. I hope someone can source this.

No one better to refute a liar than someone who was present and involved in it when the event took place.

Worse yet here we encourage citizens from a foreign country being allowed to settle in ours without permission. Citizens who’s country lays claim to parts of ours and support that claim for where they have dominance in doing so, terrorize our citizens. Yet the opposition party leadership even refuses to deal with that aspect.
