Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) is the big prize in the quest for more than 70 votes for immigration reform, but the Gang of Eight is split over whether he’s worth wooing. Watch the video here.

Cornyn told Republican colleagues at a meeting Wednesday that he would consider making changes to his amendment to bolster the border-security provisions of the Senate bill.

I do not trust the source (The Hill), but -- I admit -- I suspect this is true.

If so, ... Thank you for the knife in the back, John. /sarc

He was leading the charge for Shamnesty I. I don’t know who would think he’d be different now.

Cornyn is right up there with Lindsay Graham in senators up for re-election in 2014 who need to be primary challenged.

“bolster border security measures in the Senate bill”. What a joke! There already are innumerable “border security measures” encoded in existing Federal laws. What good are they or any new law if the Administration ignores them or willfully chooses not to enforce them? Illegals will keep coming here as long as there is miserable poverty on one side and hope and wealth on the other.

Over 90 percent of the GOP elected officials are phony RINO’s-business as usual politicians.

Many cover themselves with NO votes on bad bills that pass anyway to fake out the folks back home.

RE :”Cornyn told Republican colleagues at a meeting Wednesday that he would consider making changes to his amendment to bolster the border-security provisions of the Senate bill.
His willingness to negotiate left some Republicans convinced after the meeting that he would strike a deal with the Gang of Eight and vote for final passage. His support would help the legislation pass overwhelmingly.
Republican members on the Gang of Eight think he is a gettable vote, even though they acknowledge some of their Democratic colleagues are skeptical. Democrats strongly doubt Cornyn will vote “yes,” given his past record of opposing immigration reform plans.
“What I’m hoping is that we can negotiate with Sen. Cornyn to the point where we can get an agreement. We continue to talk,” said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a leader of the gang.
Cornyn said he’s willing to modify proposal but will not concede on what he calls its “fundamental substance.”

Amnesty drama in the Senate ping!

We have millions of illegals because our government refuses to enforce the border. That is not complicated. Why did they allow this to happen. If they say they spy on us for our security, yet leave the borders unchecked so anyone can enter who may plot against us. Now, who are they kidding. The NSA files are Big Brother. These people in charge look at the U.S. constitution as a living document. Shredding the 4th Amendment proves that to me.

Shredding the 4th Amendment proves that to me....

and by not protecting the border for our safety.

...to bolster the border-security provisions of the Senate bill.

No worries, the Dems can make even bigger promises, that they will ignore, or the judges in their pockets will simply toss. Add bolster on top of bolster, it means nothing. (And, the Dems know this, does not Mister Cornyn?)

I wish I could say something positivec (please correct me if I'm in error); however, Cornyn appears to be a completely controllable fool.

Fresh from her gun humiliation, Boxer said she would try to have act apply the ‘fines’ the illegals will purportedly pay—to their medical care.
So any revenue generated won’t go to plugging the holes these rats used.

They don’t have any intention of addressing border security. After they get their amnesty, it’s back to SNAFU. This is a joke.

They say our immigration policy is broken.....BROKEN? When you don’t enforce the LAW, it cannot work properly. ENFORCE THE EXISTING LAWS!!!! Holder, you have no conscience. You are the problem!!

Cornyn, we know what the hell is going on...you can drop the act.

Here’s the plan...

What’s going to happen in the next few weeks, possibly by July 4th, the Senate will pass the amnesty bill.
At the same time the House is going to pass a Trojan horse bill that will sound good and that will secure the borders.
The problem with that is
they’re both going to be sent to conference committee,
where amnesty is going to be added to the Trojan horse bill.
The Senate will vote yes on final passage and send it to the House.
Led by Nancy Pelosi, the House Democrats will ALL vote for the bill
because it will assure permanent Democratic political majority,
and a few Republican committee chairs will provide the final votes needed for passage.
That way the president will have amnesty for illegals
and the country will be fast-tracked to permanent progressivism.

Contact your congresscritters and let them know YOU know. Alert all the people you can to do the same.

the end-game here is that perhaps even the most loyal conservative republicans will finally realize that if/when this amnesty is passed (with all the fake kabuki theater playing out amongst the GOP leadership), there will be no point in supporting the national republican party. that you may as well declare a voter strike against republican leadership that has no interest in representing you. that and the red states will be forced to defend their state borders. the choice for red states will be between survival and reverse-assimilation at that point. they will restore a measure of security at their state borders, hopefully, join the blue states. it will also inspire nacent cooperation and cohesion in the red states. red state borders, will become the new, soverign borders of America. fortunately many red states are contiguous and adjacent.

in the leftist blue states, it’ll be every faction for itself (e.g., islamists vs mexicans, etc).
