Maybe Imam Ubama will send out a call to prayer 5 times a day. Y’know, just as a reminder.

Wonder if “don’t forget to vote!” will be among the messages come the 2014 election cycle.

What exactly is a Presidential alert supposed to be used for?

////////////////////////

Major natural disasters such as the earthquake which struck Japan, or a terrorist attack such as 9/11.

Dang! Just checked my setting, and not until I checked my “alerts” setting was I notified that it was installed. I turned then both off immediately. Any thing I wan to know from the government I will find out myself!

“I’d be OK with that if I could reply with F.U. to each message.”

If you find an app for that, PM me pls..

Mine finally got the update.

Just got this notice:

Carrier Settings Updated
New settings required for your
device have been installed.

With an OK button, no other option than OK, of course.

No mention of who required the updates, either...

It maybe it’s time to drop “Hello” and start answering the phone with your unit/name/number/extension followed by this-is-not-a-secure-line.

My dumb phone keeps my life simple and I like it that way.

Simplicity solves many problems, both small and large.

If you live in the sticks, texting is useful in spotty coverage areas.

Tell me again why I want one of these things?

If we object to having a personal electoral tracking device usable by Obama, on our person, 24/7- will we end up on the kill list?

Is this phone thing a way to show proficiency in obedience to Obama?

The absolute best way to go if you don't need a data plan is to purchase a jailbroken phone and then buy minutes as you need them.

I spend less than $100/year on cellphone service. I purchased a new, jailbroken phone for $200 (3 years ago) and only purchase minutes packages from T-Mobile.

I buy 1,000 minutes for $100. By buying $100 in minutes I get 15% more, for a total of 1,150 minutes. I load that onto my phone and go.

No monthly phone bill. I also do not have a data plan, but for me that's ok - I don't want to surf the net on a cellphone, seems rather stupid to me. I do have wifi capabilities on this phone so I can add all the apps I want.

I primarily use my phone for PHONE CALLS (I know, that's kinda archaic) and an occasional text with one of my sons. this method works great for me, I really didn't want a monthly cellphone bill as I hardly use the thing.

Oh, best part: My 1,150 minutes are good for a year, and I can roll any unused minutes over the next year simply by adding a minimum amount of minutes ($25.)

For my two teenage sons, I purchased jailbroken Samsung Galaxy Ace 2's out of Singapore (same as a Samsung Galaxy 3, just smaller) for $185 each and pay $15/mo for them both to have unlimited text - which is all kids use these days anyway. Cheap, easy, no contracts and not locked into any one carrier.

I just emailed AT & T and told them that I would wait and see what the messages are. If I receive ANYTHING upsetting from the Liar-in-Chief I will cancel their service pronto.

I expect politicians from both parties to be in love with this idea.
