WASHINGTON (AP) — An Internal Revenue Service supervisor in Washington says she was personally involved in scrutinizing some of the earliest applications from tea party groups seeking tax-exempt status, including some requests that languished for more than a year without action.
Holly Paz, who until recently was a top deputy in the division that handles applications for tax-exempt status, told congressional investigators she reviewed 20 to 30 applications. Her assertion contradicts initial claims by the agency that a small group of agents working in an office in Cincinnati were solely responsible for mishandling the applications.
Paz, however, provided no evidence that senior IRS officials ordered agents to target conservative groups or that anyone in the Obama administration outside the IRS was involved.
Instead, Paz described an agency in which IRS supervisors in Washington worked closely with agents in the field but didn't fully understand what those agents were doing. Paz said agents in Cincinnati openly talked about handling "tea party" cases, but she thought the term was merely shorthand for all applications from groups that were politically active — conservative and liberal.
Paz said dozens of tea party applications sat untouched for more than a year while field agents waited for guidance from Washington on how to handle them. At the time, she said, Washington officials thought the agents in Cincinnati were processing the cases.

Obama ordered his IRS to rig the election of 2012 for Obama and democrats/socialists in the Senate. Obama also used other gov agencies to rig the election. Why isn’t anyone shouting this form the rooftops? Come on Levin, coulter , Sarah Palin, Rush, DRudge ,FOX etc. call Obama out on this and call for Obama’s resignation.

There were stories from 2 or 3 days ago that Paz had been fired by the IRS. Spokesmen for IRS wouldn’t comment, but if she was fired it was because they knew this story was coming out.

But who, specifically, in the agency made these claims and who told them to say that? Do we know? Can we not get someone to go after them for (obviously) lying and running a coverup (you know, what got Nixon to resign...)?
I sincerely believe the "news" media will not try to find out. After all, the Prez is a Dem, not a Repub, so there can't possibly be a scandal here, right? /sarc

I don't know about that; the more NSA stuff comes out the more the media might just start doing its job here — for the simple reason that the NSA-stuff is really pissing a lot of people off, regardless of democrat/republican affiliation.
Just as Clinton’s greatest crime was trying to fix a civil damage case in which he was a defendant so is the IRS efforts to rig the election in which Obama (and his cronies)was running. You only need ask the question “qui bono”. Impeachment must remain an option.
Take it one step further.... HOW did they know this story was coming out???? Yep they are still targeting their email...
What the IRS did, on orders from the White House/DNC, was to disenfranchise conservative voters by not allowing the conservative groups to organize and get out the vote. During all of these scandals, the word disenfranchise has suddenly disappeared from the media’s vocabulary.
Talking about hedging your bets. This woman is prevaricating desperately to try to stay out of trouble. They should give her immunity only if she spills the entire beans. She is hiding more than she says.
In the federal government, you do as you are told or go bye bye. You can resist or refuse to do something only for so long. You can sandbag or cause ‘network issues’ only for so long.
