Ivy League Professor: GOP Supports Abortion Ban to Regain 'White Supremacy'

On Tuesday, the Republican-controlled House voted to impose a nationwide ban on abortions after 22 weeks of pregnancy. The measure, however, will not be considered by the Democrat-led Senate, and President Obama has said he would veto it. Democrats criticized Republicans for what they see as a new attack on abortion rights. In a recent MSNBC panel discussion on the bill, University of Pennsylvania professor Salamisha Tillet suggested that this is a racial issue.

She expressed the possibility that Republicans support abortion bans so that white women will keep having babies, thereby "reproducing whiteness, white supremacy, white privilege."

Megyn Kelly, Kirsten Powers and Monica Crowley were all seemingly stunned by that remark, with Megyn asking, "How stupid is that statement!? There is nothing true or accurate about it."

Powers pointed out that if someone were a white supremacist, they would support abortion because the CDC's figures show "disproportionately" more African-American women having abortions, compared to white women.

Does this guy realize Blacks disproportionately have abortions. If we were racists we would applaud this. I find it tragic.

Guess who does support it. That's right, people like this person who actually are racists.

It doesn't bother them at all that Blakcs are under-represented in our society. Nope, that's just peachy according to them.

These chuckleheads don’t seem to realize that 40% of abortions are black babies.

I thought the headline said professor.

I think that these leftist-rapists want to maximize abortions so that middle aged men can keep raping girls and get rid of the evidence.

If it were a racial thing we would only ban late term abortions for white women, and allow black women to continue killing their future. Personally, I want lots of white babies, all the babies white women can have, and I don’t care if black people hate white babies. White people are okay with me, along with their Western culture.

Would agree that calling the House's effort to ban all abortions after 22 weeks "white supremacist" or "racist" is moronic. Maybe I'm confused, but this may not be the first time that this Salamisha Tillet gained national attention for saying something off the wall.

I know I might take some flack here for my constitutionalist view on this, but can someone tell me what enumerated Congressional power in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution (or anywhere else in the Constitution for that matter) gives Congress the authority to legislate on the subject of abortion? Seems to me that this is a power reserved to the states or the people, as per the Tenth Amendment.

You totally misunderstand the Tenth Amendment, then.

The Tenth deals with legitimate POWERS. And no government, federal or state, has legitimate power to alienate the supreme UNALIENABLE God-given individual right, which is the right to live.

In fact, according to this free republic’s founders, all governments exist, before anything else, to DEFEND innocent human life, and to provide equal protection to all. It is an absolute duty.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men...”

And the Fourteenth Amendment made it explicit, for anyone who misses the forest for the trees.

“No State shall deprive any person of life without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

And finally, the ultimate stated purpose of the U.S. Constitution is to protect the unborn.

“We the People of the United States, in Order to...secure the Blessings of Liberty to...our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment provides, inter alia, “No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

Section 5 of the Fourteenth Amendment provides “The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.”

Thus, Section 5 of the Fourteenth Amendment empowers Congress to enforce any violations of Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment, including those that occur when states permit the taking of innocent human life through abortion.

My mom stands in front of a clinic every week trying to convince girls not to go in. Most are not White. The number of minority abortions is way out of proportion with the population, this is common knowledge. This woman that said this is a professor? That figures I guess.

Conservatives are against abortion even though those those Black and brown babies would probably grow up to be democrats. Can’t they just acknowledge the motive is altruistic? (Rhetorical question.)

One must ask the right questions. Who has more unwanted babies, poor folk or rich? Who is economically better off, blacks or white? Where did this professor get her degree, Harvard or Yale? Can she get a refund?

Correct me if I am wrong but are black women aborting their babies more than white women ? so how can this duffus come to this conclusion that if abortion is banned that it would bring back white supremacy ?

dems get most abortions, so they give birth to less dems, which never get to have babies either, the dems have about 100 million less dems in America because of abortion, what a maroon!

Still, between the dead vote and the imports, it has a cumulative effect at the ballot box (not to mention multiple votes and other fraud).
