EVPAC Endorsements Reflect Candidates' Support of LGBT Community
Dear
The next four years could be a crucial turning point for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Virginians. With supportive leadership from the top down here in the Commonwealth, this positive change can build momentum for ending workplace discrimination, gaining marriage equality, extending adoption rights, and protecting our LGBT youth.
Equality Virginia's Political Action Committee announced its endorsements for Virginia's statewide races today. Click here now to help us spread the word across the state and get these candidates in office.
Terry McAuliffe Terry McAuliffe, Governor
McAuliffe spoke at Equality Virginia's 2013 Commonwealth Dinner reaffirming his support for marriage equality.
I believe everyone should be treated fairly. I personally favor civil marriage for committed couples of the same-sex. I understand that this is an issue that Virginians of goodwill come down on both sides of and it is an issue where, like many Virginians, my views have changed from earlier in my life."
As Governor of Virginia, he will be committed to putting jobs first -- which also means providing an inclusive workplace environment to LGBT employees in state government to keep the Commonwealth a competitive place to do business. He has promised to reinstate an executive order last issued by Gov. Kaine to protect Virginians from discrimination in the workplace.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ralph Northam Ralph Northam, Lieutenant Governor
Sen. Northam scored 100% on Equality Virginia Advocate's 2013 Legislative Scorecard and is a longstanding ally in the General Assembly. Northam is a supporter of marriage equality and workplace protections.
"There is no excuse to discriminate against Virginians based on whom they love or to stigmatize the children of same-sex couples as unequal because their parents cannot marry. I recently met with a constituent who broke down in tears because his gay sons love would be treated as second-class. This discrimination and callousness must end. We must cherish and promote all Virginia families and children across the Commonwealth. That is why I will continue to fight for marriage equality."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark Herring Mark Herring, Attorney General
Sen. Herring has a longstanding record of supporting and voting in favor of equality in the General Assembly and scored a 100% in EVA's 2013 Legislative Scorecard.
His Equality Agenda shows how he will address LGBT issues in the role of Attorney General and is directly in line with Equality Virginia's three-fold mission to protect families, build safer communities, and end discrimination.
As I travel across the Commonwealth, the message is consistent and clear: Virginians are ready for fundamental change in the office of Attorney General. That change starts with having an Attorney General who will promote equality, rather than sow division."
We have a lot of work to do before November.
Have you thought about the anti-LGBT ticket that will try to push us further back? Every $20 donation enables Equality Virginia Advocates' to talk with 50 more voters.
Imagine a Virginia with pro-equality leadership in the Executive Mansion...
Join us today and help us spread the word about these candidates that support LGBT Virginians.
Yours in equality,

At least they leave no question. The Democratic ticket is the 100% LGBT pro abort ticket. Like we didn’t know that already.
if he believes we should all be equal then does he also support polygamy?
Oh no course not because they don;t have the money the feces pushing sex homo’s do
If this isn’t a clear definition between the tickets, I don’t know what is. Conservatives... here in Virginia, at least... you have NO excuse to sit on your a**es in November!
Sorry, Romney taught us to believe a Republican can win without Conservatives, without a campaign, without new voter registration ~ BTW, Conservatives voted in VA this last time but the Rockefeller crowd were still absent. What’d they do ~ die or something?
I sure do wish folks would use the abbreviation, Va. And not VA, it makes headline only people think the Good Veterans Admin has nothing to do but fool with cultural reprogramming
Ugh
Abbreviation thread police, that is going too far.
Needs to be promoted 24/7 in every media outlet
It’s just a request during this time of attack on our military by media and admin
They DO operate within the headline world trolling for headline news readers AKA low info voters
Flame away
USPS prefers VA ~ Va. is so outre
Am way sensitive to this current regime which includes thee ska and their headline writers in particular attacking the military and the VA they use public disinformation And these guys are not a woeful group within the political culture.
And I wasn’t policing FR but the horrible brainwashers of the media
There are standard postal abbreviations ~ there are also literary conventions. I wrote this rule up WAY BACK WHEN and it has stood the test of time: https://www.usps.com/send/official-abbreviations.htm
I know and they are most useful
Am just peeved when the yucky media uses these to their advantage.
These are postal codes. Headline codes are for ease of comprehension. The example I refer to for my point is the use that the NY Post makes of the rule with its front pagers. Watch what they do with that guy running for mayor, the ones tried to the MB princess.
They know what they’re doing when they fool around with the military and I think they should back off. They’d be the first to scream and knee knock for help from these guys if faced with a group of armed attackers
And they’re the last to give them a break in the propaganda forum.
Oh, that will go over well in VA. /s
I love my dogs. How dare the state of Virginia prohibit me from marrying who I love ?
I love my sister. How dare the state of Virginia prohibit me from marrying who I love ?
I love my 3 year old neighbor. How dare the state of Virginia prohibit me from marrying who I love ?
Ad nauseum.
I get so tired of the hysterics. I swear most leftists are just mentally deranged.
