This had nothing to do with charity or conviction and even less to do with abortion or life. It was two profit making corporations squaring off against each other. Substitute Apple and Google in for the Komen and Planned Parenthood and people would be abuzz about greedy capitalists.

I donate to my local animal shelter, in the form of dog food, bedding, toys, etc...
That way I can control what my money is spent on.

If you give at the source...it is wisely spent. That cannot be said for about fifty percent of all charity operations.

This decision is really hurting Komen. Where I work, there are various fundraising weeks. Each unit puts together a basket for a silent auction, there are special fun activities, and such. And we usually raise a ton of money. This year, a couple individuals donated items, no unit did a basket, and the silent auction bids equalled less than 50 bucks. This is just one e.xample, but its happening everywhere.
Libs are very bitter vindictive people. Komen is disliked by Libs for leaving and by pro lifers for going back, I see them going to way of the dodo

This is difficult. I’ve supported the foundaion in the past, as my mother is a breast cancer survivor. I was planning on running in the marathon this Fall. Maybe one should support local branches of the foundation but not the national foundation.

Lefties have overtaken The Audubon Society, the Sierra Club, The Humane Society of the US, and most all societies claiming to be for the benefit of animals and the environment. Only problem is that the majority of the money goes to the DNC or individuals. The Audubon Society got my attention when they made massive donations to Al Gore in 2000. Lefties take over the Non profit organizations then perversely direct the money to the DNC.

The Audubon Society started turning hard left in the 90s, if I recall correctly. What tipped me off was an article in their magazine claiming that, somehow, poor people are more affected by pollution than rich people--which was nothing more than a wealth redistributionist screed. I stopped subscribing soon after. Protection of the environment is just one of many worthwhile causes that have been preempted by the left to advance totalitarianism.

It's too bad Komen couldn't stand their ground. There are more pro-lifers than pro-aborts, although the pro-aborts probably can field more money.

I donate to an organization that works to establish trap/spay/neuter/release programs across the country. The innocent little animals deserve our compassion. Plus, feral cats help control vermin.

Thanks markomalley.
A few days ago Komen founder Nancy Brinker finally lost her job as CEO. It took a while but they finally got rid of her, the woman who watched her sister suffer and die from breast cancer, who dedicated her life to eradicating the disease, who created one of the most successful global health charities in the world. They removed her for the crime of trying to defund Planned Parenthood. She’s being replaced by a woman some say had a hand in developing Obamacare and who has never run a non-profit.

Handel subsequently wrote a very readable book about it and is now running for the U.S. Senate from Georgia.

“Georgians want a conservative Senator with the courage to take on the staus quo, to fight for them and our constitutional ideals, to be accountable to them — and not Washington”

Karen is a life-long conservative and Republican who built her career on sound fiscal and organizational management in both the public and private sector. She left an abusive home when she was 17, finishing high school and entering the workforce. With tremendous perseverance and determination, she has had a successful political and business career.

If you want to know which organizations are ethical, you can visit this website:

http://www.all.org/charities/?page=0

If you’re interested in having someone name some organizations which fight breast cancer, you can “Ask Jodie Brown” - just look to the right.

Also, I read that www.bcpinstitute.org and www.abortionbreastcancer.org are ethical and the Archdiocese of Atlanta is now supporting those two.
