In MA things like Lobster, Filet and Cakes can all be purchase with EBT. Basically any food item that is not taxed (such as ready to eat foods at the deli, etc.)

I have seen a huge $75 cake and about $150 of steaks paid for with EBT. It was for the 8-10 y/o son of the welfare queen, who spent half the time in line on their iPhone while their son was playing a game in their iPod Touch.

This receipt is authentic - although the EBT card holder didn't make the purchase - her (ex) boyfriend did. If I remember the story correctly, someone found the receipt in the store's parking lot and launched it onto the Internet.

There are two choices, reduce the amount spent on food stamps, or reduce the number of recipients

“The best and easiest way to do that is raise import tariffs and put Americans back to work.”

Raising prices to consumers will not do a thing to increase jobs in America

” There are no restrictions on the cash side other than gambling and a few things.”

You should have stopped at “there are no restrictions” because there aren’t any. Even food stamp side of the card can be converted to cash without breaking any law

"Raising prices to consumers will not do a thing to increase jobs in America"

But raising tariffs will. Initially the foreign firms will try to absorb the cost, reducing their profits and giving our government an added revenue stream. One that the founding fathers approved of. The reason they will absorb it, is that you always price what the market will bear. If Foreign firms could have raised their prices without incurring competition they already would have.

If they can't successfully absorb the tariff, then the foreign firms will raise prices to our consumers. But that will open the door for American firms to start up and compete against them. That will put Americans back to work.

That's a figment of your imagination.

In addition, the Agriculture Department (USDA) has cut “trafficking” — the sale of SNAP benefits for cash, which violates federal law — by three-quarters over the past 15 years. Only 1 percent of SNAP benefits is trafficked. USDA has also permanently disqualified thousands of retail stores from the program for not following federal requirements. When cases of SNAP fraud are reported in the news, it is because the offenders have been caught, evidence that states and USDA are aggressively combating fraud.
