Isn't it ironic, they are clammering for bennies that are broke, i.e. SSI, Medicare, Medicade etc etc etc. It is like being the king of wishful thinking. These programs need re-engineering and or privatization or insert buzzword here, but are they getting an empty bowl in the long run?

BTW, I had a chance meeting w/ one of the Hawaiian Pro-Gay Marriage top advocates in the late 1990's and I was convinced then it was all about the bennies....

DOMA was enacted to prevent the State of Hawaii from forcing Same Sex marriage on the whole country through the 4th article of the Constitution.

DOMA forced same sex marriage advocates to go state by state, which is far more appropriate, especially if passed through the legislature instead of through the courts, as it was in MA and IA.
