To be Clear About Mark Zuckerberg’s Americans for a Conservative Direction

I just want to be clear about about the new front group for the Gang of Eight’s immigration proposal on the right, Americans for a Conservative Direction.

The group, funded by Facebook billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, is perfectly entitled to set up this group. A good bit of the center-right coalition supports the issue.

That’s not my problem

My problem is that this is just another example of Republican consultants seemingly bleeding people dry for crappy work product.

They call themselves Americans for a Conservative Direction, but one of their first ads is a poorly produced ad supporting Lindsey Graham, who is not exactly a stalwart of the conservative movement these days.

Tell them to stop all Amnesty or immigration bills.they are all trojan horse bills. some will promise border security that will never be enforced anyway. but in the bill will be the virus:

at least 3 ways to destroy the USA

1. amnesty to 30 million illegals and chain migration.

2. Amnesty forever to ANY foreigner in the 3rd world. all he has to say is he's seeking political asylum .there are 6 billion poor in the 3rd world . and this bill will allow any of the to come here , all they need is to get on a boat.
3. many more work visas for many occupations

Bachmann explained it . The House will write a border security bill only . then in conference the senate will add the virus and then bring it back to the house. then the conservatives won't vote for it but democrats will all vote for it so only need 10% of republicans to pass Amnesty and the virus that will destroy America. so any bill at all will be added the virus . so best thing is for Boner to not let any immigration bill at all come out of the House. that is the only hope . call boner and the House

Rove likes Maro Rubio's Amnesty Bill

It's true that there is a grave danger of House "comprehensive immigration" bills going into conference and coming out as amnesty bills.

However, sometimes not producing any bill at all is disastrous. Boehner, not wanting to be labelled as anti-woman, allowed a vote on VAWA and it passed as is.

If the House passes an enforcement only bill it would be difficult for RINOs to add path-to-citizenship in conference.

All democrats will vote for the Amnesty bill. so all they need to do is turn 10% of Republicans to get Amnesty . and they will get it if ANY bill comes out of the House( no matter if it's just a fence bill it WILL be merged with a Senate Amnesty bill. Bachman said this is the plan. this is why the zuckerberg ads keep playing to pass something anything.

I voted for Bachmann in the 2012 primaries.

I used to make the same argument she is making, but now I have doubts.

If RINOs voted for a bill that was introduced in conference as enforcement only, but amnesty was added in conference, that would be considered an unforgivable betrayal by the House GOP, and those members would never be trusted. Plus, after the conference vote, it would have to be passed by the full House again. If they were going to go to that much trouble, why not juat vote for amnesty in the first place?

Boehner didn’t try to pass a more conservative VAWA, so then the House passed the Dem version.

Yes by the full house but ALL democrats will vote to pass that Amnesty bill merged with the security bill.That is the plan Bachman said,. then all that democrats need to do is turn only 10% of Republicans in the House to vote for the merged bill and that is really easy to do. So NO bill must come out of the House .yes all conservatives will vote against it but if you think they can't find 10%? look at Ryan he is working on a lot of them will have much more than 10% . it's over if they pass any bill in the House

I wish is were that simple.

That plan didn’t work for VAWA, and I will tell you why. Boehner is likely to feel pressure to vote on some immigration bill sooner or later. Review his announcements. If the House does not pass, say, enforcement only, what is stopping Boehner from letting them vote on the senate bill?

If the House GOP leadership was not so cowardly, I suppose Bachmann’s plan would work.

Either way carries some risk.

Exactly, Bachman doesn't explain why her ‘House should do nothing’ strategy didn't stop VAWA (with new gay and illegal protections) and the tax extension both Senate bills from reaching Obama’s desk.
Failed strategy.

Besides, the House should drag this out with lots of investigative hearings on the Senate bill and the special interests behind it, before writing a bill. Imagine if it was Senate Obama-care sent over.
