George Zimmerman Witness Can't Read Letter She 'Wrote' About Shooting
ABC News ^ | June 27, 2013 | SENI TIENABESO and MATT GUTMAN

A teenage friend of Trayvon Martin was forced to admit today in the George Zimmerman murder trial that she did not write a letter that was sent to Martin's mother describing what she allegedly heard on a phone call with Martin moments before he was shot.

In a painfully embarassing moment, Rachel Jeantel was asked to read the letter out loud in court.

"Are you able to read that at all?" defense attorney Don West asked.

Jeantel, head bowed, eyes averted whispered into the court microphone, "Some but not all. I don't read cursive."

It sent a hush through the packed courtroom.

Jeantel, 19, was unable to read any of the letter save for her name...

During nearly two hours of cross examination Wednesday in which he tried to raise questions about her version of events and accused her of telling several lies under oath, including about her whereabouts during Martin's wake.

"Under oath, you created a lie and said you went to the hospital?" asked West.

"Yes," responded Jeantel. She said she lied because she didn't want to see the body.

Jeantel became increasingly agitated and scoffed when West told her that she would have to continue testifying.

She is seen as a critical witness to the prosecution because she is the only person able to say that Martin claimed that he noticed a strange man following him and that he was scared. Jeantel said Martin described the stranger as a "creepy ass cracker."

Jeantel said Martin, 17, was walking home during halftime of the NBA All-Star Game when he became unnerved because he was being followed.

“Doesn’t say much for Jeb Bush’s vaunted Florida education reforms that this 19 year old can’t read.”

Hey, at least she can write. 8D

Jeantel is the shinning star of who we are ...

You sure you don't mean "shining star?" Quite the star yourself.

But even that seems weird because the easiest way to make something legible is to type it out and print it.

If this woman can text on a phone keyboard, surely she could have done the same on a computer keyboard?

Out of the inner cities of America...probably forty percent of the kids are finishing up high school with a 4th grade reading ability. It may be that their parents smoked a lot of dope....maybe kids are less bright than forty years ago...or maybe it’s always been that way. Doesn’t matter.

About six years ago....some high school math teacher came out in California and admitted that he finished high school with great math ability, but couldn’t read, period. He went to college, played baseball, and got a degree in math....but could not read. He was offered a job at a school to teach math, and did that for almost a decade...with no ability to read. He finally convinced himself that he had to have this skill, and went back to learn how to read. He tricked the system, and got that far in life...with no ability to read....so it’s possible.

One comment, ‘if Zimmerman doesn’t go to jail all hell was going to break loose’. those doing the commenting have their “pictures” on their comments.

This evening at the grocery store, I was in the checkout line behind this guy who glanced at the nearby tabloid on the rack -- the Globe or something like it, with a story that BO had spied on "Kate and William" -- and smirked, then ordered, apparently as an afterthought, "some Skittles" and grabbed a pack of them and put it on the checkout conveyor.

I kind of got an idea of which side he was rooting for in the GZ case.

Oh by the way, this was in the SF Bay Area town famous for its stories of people who look like Trayvon killing each other on a regular basis.

I don't know how things will play out here if GZ is acquitted. I hope justice is done. Some people in this town might not like the results.

When this fat couch potato said Trayvon, if he intended to start a fight, would have told her he’d call her back when the fight was over. West should have asked “How many times did he ever call you back after he’d started a fight?” If she answered “Never” then what makes her think he would have that night. The only other possible answer shows she knows Trayvon went around starting fights then called her back and told her all about them.

If there are riots there may be some more dead “Trayvons”. White people are like a keg of dynamite with a short fuse. Tired of being called racists. If you call a man a dog enough times, eventually he’ll start barking.

Their next lie will be she dictated the letter to her sister or some crap. Maybe even to Crump. And he didn’t say she wrote it. He said she “wrote” it. He hasn’t said anything because one, everyone knows what he meant and two, nobody axed him.

Do that and the government will have to hire “writers” to fill out all the papers for them.

What garbage...

We’re supposed to feel sorry for someone who made the comments she did when tweeting?

All she could think of was smoking dope, getting drunk and wearing her, “Court nails” to her big day on TV..

Not a thought about the man fighting for his freedom.

D'oh! And I did it twice, too. "Quite the star" indeed. I laugh at myself.

My mom used to correct my letters home, in red ink, and send them back to me. Oh well...I guess I can run, but I can't hide: "No matter where you go, there you are" got me again.

Thanks for the correction. (Sorry, Mom. It didn't take. Not your fault.)

If Zimmerman ends up convicted, it will be a huge travesty of justice.

If he does, it will be to sacrifice his life for corrupt politically correct government and the race industry government created.

In fact governments star witness is nearly a complete illiterate after 12 years of public/government schooling. In addition to being a liar and likely a hard core anti-white racist.

This is based partly on the fact there was absolutely no reason for her to be such a combative, hostile witness.

How would you write I B C U 2Day in cursive?

Way back in the 70s a black woman who had just “graduated” from Arkansas A,M & N applied for a teaching job at a high school in Little Rock. It was pointed out to her that she was two credits shy of a degree. Three days later she showed up with the two credits added to her transcript. This has been going on for decades.

When schools were integrated the entire system was dumbed down to make things “equal”. My idea back then, and I was only in my teens, was integrate the 1st grade. In 12 years the school system would be completely integrated and all would have had the exact same chance to learn. But they wouldn’t neccessarily have had the same capabilities.
