Several companies have already terminated or suspended business relationships with Paula Deen in the controversy over her use of racial slurs, yet sales of the celebrity chef’s upcoming cookbook have skyrocketed.
Dean’s latest book, “Paula Deen’s New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up,” has jumped all the way to No. 1 on Amazon’s best-seller’s list and No. 7 on the Barnes & Noble Top 100 in advance of its scheduled release. The book, published by Random House, is still scheduled to be released on Oct. 15, according to Random House spokesman Stuart Applebaum.

I got a kick out of some AA lib on Fox trying to say the Food Channel’s dropping Deen was an example of the market working.
Sweet. Proves that people out there still have some common sense ..and that if you’re truly good at what you do, you’ll always land on your feet.
Also proves that people will ultimately vote on all this nonsense with their pocketbooks ...and that we SURROUND them.
We really need to ramp up the focus on that last fact.

I wonder why so many people on FR are supporting this diehard Obama supporting wacko. I don’t see anything admirable at all in her, or anything like Freepers. If you even skim what this lawsuit is about, you can see she is a terrible business woman. Are people really saying watching pornography at work is a good idea? In the presence of a female employee?
I guess she can write a huge check with that money to the Obama campaign fund. (Yes, he still has one)

Her naysayers have been “Chick-Fil-A’d”...big time.
Seems the more the babbling class tries to submarine her, the stronger her support gets.
We went out to a nice little kitchen “shoppe” on Saturday, Paula Deen stuff was all over the place. I turn to my wife and said, “this stuff will be like 99% off by next week and they’ll be giving it away before the 4th of July” Well by Tuesday, the spices and sauces were marked down almost 75%, the books and the treats were BOGO. I stocked up on her spice mixes and whatever sauces remained. I don’t ever remember anything like this happening to a public figure. Hell, they showered the Elmo child molester and the rapist Roman Polanski with awards.
Fox should give her a spot on O’Reilly with a good, nourishing and healthy short recipe every week. People would love it. Easy supper tonite etc.
Only person I watch (rarely) on food network is Ina Garten. Always cooking the best food. Can’t stand all those competitions they have.
It may be too late, but Political Correctness must be contested every time it pops up.
I have said the word and still say the word in the privacy of my home..the reason I say it is because of the trash in the white house..I also call some whites trash,because they act like it some times..
I never heard of her before this scandal broke, but I say, good.
I would guess that her big mistake was to hire black assistants, and give them jobs. It was back in the day when not many blacks did that kind of work, and people hadn’t quite realized that if you hired a black person, you were stuck forever, whether they bothered to do any real work or not. Because otherwise it would go to the trial lawyers and you would be punished for being a racist.
No, it wasn’t nice calling people names, but back when I was a kid everybody did it, and thought nothing of it. At least there was a kind of even-handedness about it—nothing personal. And it wasn’t just blacks. And if the school bullies called you a name, you just ignored it, or hit them back.
I just pre-ordered Paula Deens cookbook because (even though she’s a dumbass democrat) she is being unfairly crucified.
