In an emotional interview with Anderson Cooper, Trayvon Martin‘s stepmother, Alicia Stanley, opened up about her inconsolable grief at the loss of a boy she helped to raise for 14 years, Zimmerman’s guilt, Trayvon’s character and being ignored by Trayvon’s father, Tracy Martin.
Her voice shaking with pain and tears in her eyes, Stanley explained that she had helped raise Trayvon since he was 3-years-old, and that he was at her home with his father and her daughters “90 percent” of the time.
“Trayvon was a kind person, a loving person,” Stanley told Cooper. “He loved children, babies. You know before this happened, I really believed he would have been working with children; he adored children. He’s not what the media make him out to be…this thug.”
Stanley said that when the media started coming around, Tracy Martin stopped communicating with her and she didn’t understand why.
“He would just he was busy.”
Rachel Jeantel, 19, the last person to speak to Trayvon before Zimmerman killed him, testified that he referred to Zimmerman as a ‘creepy-ass cracker,” but Stanley is skeptical.
“We didn’t teach that kind of language in our home.”(continued)

Bottom line is that George Zimmerman’s attacker got shot because he wanted to kill George.
In the absence of being provided a ‘family’ timeline, I have been trying to sort this out, and this is what I have come up with.
Trayvon is born to Sybrina Martin(now Fulton).
Tracy and Sybrina break up.
Tracy marries (or lives with) Alicia Stanley.
Alicia raise Trayvon for 14 years.
He was a good kid, and raised well. Everything I have seen of his early years backs that up.
Tracy and Alicia split up. Tracy has a new girlfriend (Brandy Green), but he doesn’t want to jeapordize the relationship by taking Trayvon with him as Trayvon is in his rebellious ‘teens’ period.
So... Trayvon has only one place left, and that is his biological mother.
He goes to live with Sybrina and she more or less ignores him and lets him do ‘whatever he wants’. However, calls from the school, fighting with the bus driver, pot plants and a gun in his room, drugs in his room, gang activity, and repeated suspensions become too much. Besides... the police keep coming over and wanting to talk to her and she doesn’t like dealing with it.
SO..... she kicks him out. Only place left now is to go live with Dad at Brandy Greens.
Dad doesn’t want to bother with any ‘discipline’ and neither does Brandy, so they more or less ignore him and his problems at school, figuring they are getting a FREE BABYSITTER out of the deal.
That is my best guess.
Travon was raised for many years by this woman (and not by the biological mother who is always in court and always presented with the biological father) who is apparently not part of the Crump narrative and has been frozen out of the picture. Just trying to judge by the dates of this stepmother’s separation (divorce?) from Tracy (Travon’s father) it appears that Travon’s descent into the Ghetto gang culture coincided with his departure from the stepmother’s household. I’m guessing that Travon was neglected from that point on.
This stepmother seems to have loved Trayvon. It’s unfortunate that he lost this “anchor” from his life and migrated into a much less wholesome life with his neglectful biological parents.
He was turning his life around and was going to the Middle East to volunteer at a baby milk factory too....You know...cuz he so loved children...
I believe her. I think there is plenty of evidence that while she lived with him, he was raised 'properly'.
It was after he had to go live with his biological mother who didn't want anything to do with him for 14 years and that he was at that 'age' where teens are rebelling against their parents and society and trying to find their 'place' with their peers (who happened , in this case, to be mostly druggies and gangbangers) that it all went to hell.
Pretty good guess I would say.
