• Switzerland: No response yet.
• Venezuela: “We haven’t been asked for help, but when he asks, he will have an answer,” President Nicolas Maduro said Tuesday.

Why is it that Vladimir Putin seems to care more about America than Barack Obama?

Putin doesn’t want the information leaked publicly - he wants it leaked to Russia privately! That’s probably the deal he is making to Snowden. He’ll appear reasonable to the rest of the world but trust me, if Snowden goes there, Russia will have 100% of the information all to themselves and once Snowden is drained of information and fully debriefed, he’ll become useless and will become the victim of some unfortunate accident.

THIS MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD: Carney said at a recent presser Snowden’s claim to support transparency was belied by his choice of safe havens — Russia, China and Ecuador........ “His failure to criticize these regimes suggests that his true motive throughout has been to injure the national security of the United States, not to advance Internet freedom and free speech,” Carney said (with a straight face).

I guess this dumb schnook and his ignorant boss in the WH haven't heard the latest (cackle).

Snowden seeks asylum in corrupt Ecuador---b/c he knows sap-happy Ohaha wont queer that deal. Ecuadorians are Third World latinos---O needs them to stay in power another 10-20 years.

(Wiki leaker Julian Assange is staying at Ecuador's embassy in Britain---his group is financing fellow-leaker Snowden)

BTW, the US has no diplos in Ecuador---they threw out the one we had b/c our diplo squealed on their corruption and heroin drug-running.....but Ecuador still gets some $35 million foreign aid from the US........PLUS.

How much do Ecuadorians living here illegally send back to the corrupt federales? And how did Ecuador influence the "reform bill" to solidify THEIR interests.

For example---The corrupt Dominican Republic depends on the BILLION US tax dollars PER YEAR its illegal populations in the US send back home to the poverty-stricken Third World hellhole.

=================================================

The stranglehold corrupt Third Worlds have on the US was never more apparent.

========================================

Snowden's making Obama and Holden look like the idiots they are.....Eddie is globe-trotting, using US secrets as trading cards.....and O/Holder can't seem to do a dam thing about it.

Because he sees the world more clearly than and recognizes the necessity of closer ties with the US moving forward.

Why is it that Vladimir Putin seems to care more about America than Barack Obama?

Because Putin is a Russian Nationalist and Obozo is a TRAITOR with a conjured past. And his loyalties are to foreign masters.

Snowden is a lamb sitting down with a wolf and a bear to decide what’s for lunch. Two of them have already decided. The bear is especially hungry.

Putin doesn’t want the information leaked publicly - he wants it leaked to Russia privately!

Exactly. US government politician's, bureaucrat's and employee crimes against US citizens and the Constitution are so numerous and disturbing that public knowledge would seriously damage the US government for decades, if not permanently.

This information is a huge source of leverage for anyone negotiating with the US government for anything, especially foreign nations. US government officials can be blackmailed into giving up most anything.

Putin is acting in Russian interests, not American, but that's his job.

Not to mention that Putin's public posture, done with a wink and a smirk, allows him to play altruistic, prident, "good cop".

Same reason Julian Assange is not too popular with Putin or our other rivals. Stolen high-level US intelligence also contains embarrassing revelations about THEM!

Putin and obamas interests are the same in this case. Putin wants to keep the issue alive as it is embaressing to the US. obama wants to keep it alive because it is a distraction from the reality that we are living in a police state.

Exactly! (I do, however, have a sense that Putin cares about America more than Obama does - but not because of this story). As you said, it's his job. Even if it were Israel or some other friendly nation to the US I think they would expect the same from the guy.
