We are Paula Deen
American Thinker ^ | 07/02/2013 | C.M. Phillips

I am from the south. I was reared in a small southern town. Paula Deen and I are about the same age. As I look at my Facebook page, I see you guys from my high school -- liberal schoolteachers, liberal Cosmo-reading sophisticates, state workers, law-enforcement officers, elected officials, and big-time corporate executives.

Once we shared space and lives in a small southern town. Each one of you should be thankful that you never reached Paula Deen's celebrity status. If you had, today you would be in the midst of a crapstorm from hell.

In our town the n-word was used: not as frequently as many of you readers imagine but it was used. Every one of us used it at one time or another. We didn't coin the word. We didn't invent bigotry or racism. We simply were reared in a small Southern town.

Though the term was used, it was not applied to every African-American. It was used sort of like "trailer trash" is used today to describe poor Southerners.

Many of you will be horrified to learn that my family had a maid. Her name was Maisy. We loved her. Long after she left our employ, we would send her money so she could go on trips with her church or get a space heater. We would occasionally stop by and drop off bananas, canned goods, and visit.

Anyone who thinks the “N” word was only ever commonly used in the South is clueless.

I’m not Paula Dean. The only time I have ever used that word was when I was singing to rap lyrics

“Black stripe, yellow paint, them *******s scared of it but them ho’s ain’t”

The lady suing Paula never heard the expression “sticks and stones may break my bones, ect.”
and Paula should have quit the apology tour early.
Some people look for reasons to be offended.

Like Mr. Phillips, I, too, am from a small southern, 1950’s town, a cotton mill town. I’m about 10 years older than Ms, Deen, and Mr. Phillips, and I remember the “n-word being commonly used by almost everyone I knew. It was not used in a demeaning way, it was just what black people were called then in the south. I was probably in the 3rd grade before I knew there was any other designation for black people.

We had maids, who functioned mostly as baby-sitters for me, and later for my little brother, in order for my mom to work. A black woman named “Leena”, used to keep me, rocked me to sleep, did diaper duty, etc...I remember her very fondly.

We had some maids that were not so good, some stole clothing by putting them on under their clothing and taking them home. But of all of them, they did very few domestic chores.

They were all well compensated, and provided with transportation to and from home.

It was the 50’s, and things were what they were...I was a kid. But I did learn one thing, they were all individuals, and were judged on their own merit, character, and honesty.

Somewhere along the line that got skewed into the belief that whites must love and embrace all blacks, lest ye be “racist”.

My take is, I like some people of all races, but I don’t like all people of any race, including whites. Because, it’s their character and honor that matters, not the color of their skin.

Liberalism requires that we love and accept people of all races, without regard to their character. What a shallow principle that would be.

They say we shouldn’t “profile”, when the human ability to detect undesirable or incompatible character and behavior based on trends, history, personal experience, danger, and common sense is what separates from the animal world.

In this “you will like me, or else” world of childish thinking, we are expected to become obedient robots of the left...to be thrown into the very same meme of the very slavery that the left so rails against and uses to guilt-trip us all into the boxcars.

All that, to say this; I seldom watch Paula Deen’s show, as I don’t cook. My wife - a agreat southern cook, herself - enjoys the show. But, I do think she is being thrown under the bus, not for here admission to using the “n-word”, but for simply being a “southerner”...with money.

I am not waiting for Wal-Mart to do anything...except fold.

Paula Deen committed the worst sin imaginable...as a single Mother, she didn't throw herself on the mercy of Mamma Gov. She leveraged her own skills, interests and energies to create a successful business enterprise.

She became self-sufficient and raised her sons to be the same. This must be punished. Nobody is allowed to succeed in the post-racial America. It is time to punish Whitey!

The word is a trap. If a protected government-approved minority says it, nothing happens. If an evil White oppressor is accused of saying it, or admits to saying it 16 years ago, the White is racist and must bow down 15 times and resign.

As for me, if the word is in the dictionary I can use it.

Anytime I want.

Now then, Bob Tuschman is the GM & SR. VP of the Food Network - he sets the daily schedule on the Food Network. It’s likely that HE canned Paula Dean. I consider him a vile little dweeb.

Where is his reason to fire Paula? It does not exist and I sincerely hope Paula Dean sues the Food Network for damages.

Very little Food Network viewing at this household anymore...

No doubt in my mind she is being ostracized because she is a Southerner.

A friend of mine today, posted something similar on his Facebook page:

I went into Target today, to buy some Paula Dean cookware. They didn't have any, so I bought a Kanye West CD, and went home.

The N-word is not used so much by white people any more in their speech, Political Correctness did that, but in their minds it is often thought.

Goes through mine every time I hear the word Obama.

Hopefully she fired whatever PR lackey advised her to cry and grovel. Or maybe that was her own dumb idea. Folks need to stand up to these stupid leftists and tell them to stick their hypocritical bulls*** where the sun don't shine. She said the 'N' word 20 years ago under duress? Who gives a f***?

She's a great American success story. It is too bad however that she is (or was) an O-voter.

It’s amazing how people can get so upset over a certain word, but have no problem with other words, namely calling conservatives Nazis, etc.

You sure hit the nail right on the head there!

The reason for all this crap is that the left thought we needed to be reminded how racist we all are.

Thought you got redeemed by electing BHO? Wrong. Zimmerman and Deen “prove” the country is still mired in racism.

No tears here. She supported the half negro in the White House.
hussein voter payback

Let's give this a 2nd thought and play the "Yes but, what if..." game.

What if Paula Deen (and George Zimmerman) are being used as examples of what will happen if Southerners, most of whom are conservative Christians, dare to offend (or otherwise stand up against) the new Marxist government? "We'll take you down, and here's proof!"

What if Deen (and George Zimmerman) are a message to the rest of us -- the populace, lawmakers, and the new media -- for what will happen if people in Southern states proceed with new Voter ID laws based on the latest SC ruling? Remember the Black Panther thugs-with-clubs outside the Philadelphia voting place? What if Deen and Zimmerman are sophisticated versions of that Chicago-style bullying? "The streets will run red with Whitney's blood!"

What if Deen (and GZ) are test cases for Obama's contingency plans for martial law scenarios they may be gaming? You know, in case the Marxists have to clamp down on uprisings that will surely occur as our Constitution is shredded at an alarming pace. "Forward, Comrade!!"

What if this is yet another example of the Leftist Marxists using the only 2 tools in their toolbox to maintain control and power: White Guilt and Black Hate? Considering all the recent scandals (IRS, Benghazi, etc.) that are riling up the Tea Party folks just in time for the next Congressional elections, the timing couldn't be better.

Should any of the above hypothetical items be true, should'nt we be supporting someone who is being wrongly accused by the ultimate hypocrites -- The Left? Even if that "someone" is a misguided, creepy-dumbazz-crackah who stupidly supported Obama?

I'm not very familiar with Deen (Dean?) and in fact she often irritates me on TV, but that old adage, "...an enemy of my enemy..." (or whatever it is) may be a wise approach here. If even ONE of the above if true, we must fight against it. IMHO.

< According to the Enquirer, Obama now regrets going on Deen’s show. “Michelle’s spitting mad,” a source told the paper. “She thinks Paula is trying to smear her and her family just as the 2012 presidential election race swings into gear.” -See more at: http://nakeddc.com/2013/06/22/ alleged-racist-paula-deen-gave-lots-of-help-to-barack-obama/#sthash.BwKU6vmK.dpuf >

I see that Barack Hussein isn’t the only one with unjustified, illogical paranoia issues.
