Is America In A Pre-Revolutionary State This July 4th?

As we approach July 4, 2013, is America in a pre-revolutionary state? Are we headed for a Tahrir Square of our own with the attendant mammoth social turmoil, possibly even violence.

We have a standing U.S. Senator openly calling for the abolishment...let me repeat that for emphasis...the abolishment of the IRS.

Abolition of the IRS? What does that mean?

Does that mean no more taxes? Does that mean that the government will be funded solely by voluntary contributions? Pass the hat? That would be revolutionary!

Or, does abolition of the IRS mean that we will continue to have taxes, but we'll change the name of the collection agency to Department of Fiscal Enhancements? Would that be revolutionary?

Maybe for the left but as for the right, it's kind of like that fat 500lb. man who is asleep on the couch ( it's going to take something drastic to get him off the couch.)

The left are the violent ones and will most likely be the ones to stir up any trouble. They'll do it under the orders of their leaders in Washington so they can take away more of our rights and the puppet media will be making it look like it's the tea party's fault.

Fair enough ... I just don't get the undying support for a woman who quit being Governor and then passed on a run for the GOP nomination. There are many better, more qualified, candidates to lead the nation. There are Conservative Governors who did not quit and who can lead us out of this mess.

Do I agree with Sarah Palin's politics? Yes. Do I think Sarah Palin is talented? Yes. Do I think she has a prayer at any type of serious run in 2016? No way.

After her nonsense leading up to her September 2011 announcement, who would take her seriously?

“Abolishment” of the IRS is a direct and unambiguous questioning of the public debt. Amendment 14 allows no wiggle room, and was used by the SCOTUS to foist Obamacare on the American people by interpreting it as a “tax.”

If a change like repeal of Obamacare is what qualifies today for a revolution, then this country has already been through thousands of revolutions.

As for the public debt, lots of countries have repudiated their public debt, but that's not usually considered a revolutionary act. Any time now, the people of this country are going to rise up and quit paying their debts!! That's a revolution, huh?

But (hopefully) there are enough patriots who will stand to be counted as ones who thought enough to risk everything because America is worth it.... as in:"we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor."

I would hope to have the courage to stand with those who went before us all, and honored the dream that is America.

Well...actually, it is. Hence, Amendment 14. It certainly was for this country. Many died here questioning an English King's public debt. It was for the equivalent of a penny tax on tea. Taxation and import tariffs fueled the fires of the American Civil War as well. I would conclude by saying that, as for Obamacare, it will never be repealed. It will have to be destroyed, by revolutionary act.

In the worst case the future of the US may be to descend ever further into totalitarianism until our country resembles more East Germany than any democracy. I fear this may be very real as Obama could easily become a dictator.

Rather than a Tahir Square type uprising what I see is many states in all but secession from the union.... basically ignoring the dictates of an increasingly powerful federal government. Some states like New York will become so repressive with both federal and state regulations that large parts of their population will leave for less restrictive states. California will financially collapse under the weight of its profligate spending and businesses leaving the state in droves to avoid high taxes. Texas will become the economic powerhouse with low taxes and independence from meddling Washington bureaucrats. The US will become balkanized much like the former Yugoslavia...nominally a single state, but with regions that are almost autonomous.

Standing up for Freedom is one thing - and we support that - but violence?

What you have to consider is that it may not be US that is throwing the first punch....

Anything can spark this fire....the Trayvon Martin verdict, what the House does with immigration, etc.

No, defaults on sovereign debt are not considered revolutionaryacts by just people. It's just considered a national failure.

I think Obamacare could be repealed as part of decision to get the government out of our health care system by also repealing programs like Medicare and Medicaid. Repeal of Obamacare needs to be based upon a broader philosophical goal - to privatize our health care system and get the government out. It's much harder to try to eliminate just one of the government programs.

Why does a leader of a protest movement have to be the final leader of the country? Rick Santelli kinda got the TEA Party rolling and I don't see his name on the list of next leaders of the USA.
